Stuff for Sale, Saturday Late Afternoon
After a brief stop at Sparky's, Ranma and Setsuna walk in the store and Setsuna closes the umbrella, obviously careful to let no water drip from it onto her skin.
//"Okay Ranma... I guess you have to find things to try on... right?"//
//"Yeah.."//
He fidgets, searching through racks gingerly.
((open if you... need a dress or anything else for homecoming?))

She pulled out the red satin of a dress, rubbing it between her fingers. This was a good thing, right? Pretty dresses and dances weren't her thing, anyway.
She considered suggesting this dress. It seemed...pretty enough. She really didn't feel like she was a good judge to tell, but she guessed it just meant Ranma trusted her opinion. She took the red satin dress off the rack, examined it a little, noting that it was all straps, rather slinky, with a very low neckline. The image of Ranma instantly came to her head, followed by a blush and a fiercely quick thrust of it back onto the rack.
Oi. This was going to be interesting....

While it certainly explained maybe why he was going as a girl, it still made no sense to Setsuna. Ranma Saotome didn't ask people out; she should know!

Jesus, if that had been all it took, she should have groped him when she first met him as a girl and saved herself a hell of a lot of trouble.
But of course, even just thinking that made her blush and want to hide among the dresses now.

//"And don't avoid answering my question! When did this happen? Why...why didn't you tell me?"// There was an unavoidable pout at the end of her question.

She gulped. Why the hell was she talking about Ranma's eyes?
She offered a pink dress she had found, a full ballroom skirt with a very simple bodice. //"Try this one."//

Quickly, she shoved another dress at him, a greenish one. //"Here. Try this one."//

She stopped herself; despite how it may seem, this was still Ranma, not Ranma-chan. This could have been a very close call. She lifted her shoulders in a gesture of nervous apprehension. //"How mad at me would you be if I said I thought you looked beautiful?"// she asked, red everywhere.

God, he did look pretty, though. Really, really pretty...She sucked in a breath, turned away quickly to put back the other dresses.

Her fingers were tracing along the soft fabrics again. Would she look as beautiful in any of these dresses? ...probably not even close, ever. She sighed deeply, wistfully...

//"I...well, you know, I'm really not much of a dancer, anyway..."// she said, quietly, trying to smile a little.

//"Uhh, yeah, sorry,"// Setsuna said quickly, almost dodging out from underneath his hand and starting to walk toward the front of the shop. //"Maybe some other time. But, hey, we got your dress, mission accomplished, so maybe we should just pay for it and head back. It'd be nice to get back before it starts raining agian..."//
