Sunday Brunch, Cafe Fina

Oh, they had tried to be emo. The kitchen staff had tried to complain and wheedle and whine and mope and brood and angst.

But they were powerless against a man who deal with Bruce Wayne on a daily basis. And who also had acess to such tea that it boggled the mind.

Seriously, my mind? Totally boggled.

The faire for this week is comfort food. What mom used to make.

It probably won't help, but you can cry into it, at least.

Clark wasn't particularly hungry. Well that wasn't true but he didn't hugely feel like eating. But he knew that he should so he was here. Of course the sight of things he used to eat when he was a kid and life...well was still pretty messed up but at least he remembered it being better than now...his appetite returned. A little.

And be sure to pronounce angst "aungst" when you are chatting.

Mmmmm...Hot cocoa. Clark closed his eyes and let the aroma and warmth of the mug warm him.

His advice on breaking you out of your funk will probably be tea related.

Hey, he's British. It's his thing.

"Hello Alfred."

"Good morning Mr. Kent. How are you today?"

"Oh, I'm all right I suppose. You?" clark was not all right, but he didn't want to sound whiny.

"Trouble with the staff as of late," Alfred replied. "But I suppose I can't complain."

"What sort of trouble?"

Alfred shook his head. "For reasons unknown to me, they've all come down with some sort of lingering depression."

"I think it's been that kind of weekend." Clark sighed.

Alfred nodded. "It has been, hasn't it? I'm not quite certain why."

Artie came leaping in, looking a bit more serious than usual. "Alfred! Will you be aavailable at sundown?!"

Alfred blinked, suprised at both Artie's entrance and his seriousness. "I believe so. I don't have anything planned. Is there something I can help you with?"

"You have, perhaps, noticed the increased emo on the island lately?"

"...Emo? Oh. Yes, my kitchen staff has been unusually broody and depressed as of late."

"That is the result of a fiendish beast known as Teh Emoo. It is here in Fandom, and must be stopped."

"Teh Emoo? What sort of beast is it?"

"A foul demon of a beast that emits emo. There is only one way to defeat it!"

"Holy oak? Stab through the heart with a cross? Exorcisim?"

"Silliness."

"We must harness the power of silliness?"

"We must be silly! Will you help?"

"Of course I will help in any way I can, but I'm not sure silliness is quite my area of expertise."

"I am certain you can be silly if you tried! Perhaps a silly outfit?"

Alfred scratched his head. "I suppose that could work. What sort of outfit did you have in mind?"

"Anything ridiculous would do."

Alfred's eyes lit up. "Hold on a moment... I think I might have just the thing."

"Then bring it, or wear it, to the park at sundown. We shall confront Teh Emoo then!"

"I shall be there with bells on. Unless I don't have any bells, in which case I shall improvise."

"Thank you, Alfred! I will see you there!"

...

Now I really want some tea...

Unfortunately, the really good tea is only available in Canada.
