Park [after dark]

It had been a long couple of weeks. Vader's office was pink, the dance had been excruciating, and the Emperor was not at all pleased about his lack of progress on the Skywalker front.

So Vader was going for a walk to burn off tension.

This being Vader, it looked a lot like "stalking through the park and scaring the squirrels."

Angel? Had molested his own doppelganger (which he still felt wasn't his fault) and then walked in on his secret boyfriend getting a blowjob from his not-so-secret ex.

Cranky didn't even BEGIN to describe it.

Vader had seen Angel at the dance, of course, but seeing him up close again was...surprising.

He stopped walking, put his arms across his chest and stared.

Some very petty part of him was happy to be taller now.

Angel hadn't been looking for anyone in particular so his senses didn't automatically ping at the movement in the shadows or the scent of something mechanical.

The sound of that breathing, on the other hand...

Angel stopped and stared.

Some very petty part of him resented being shorter right now.

"Thinner, too," Angel added. He put his hands in his pockets and sauntered forward as though he didn't have a concern. There were a lot of advantages to not having a heartbeat, not needing to breathe, and having a mind that couldn't be read. "Guessing the name's how you overcomensate?"

Bel kicked at a rock as he walked through the park. He'd holed up in his room after leaving Cally, but he was too restless to stay there. He felt bad about what had happened. He could've really hurt Cally. Most of him was horrified.

But part of him liked it.
