Marty arrives early for lunch and gets a booth for Angela and himself to enjoy lunch. He also manages to charm the waitress into giving him three dozen fortune cookies for his upcoming project with Joxer before settling down to check out the menu.

Angela slid into the booth and surveyed the fortune cookies. "Let me guess, prophecy class?"

"Yep. It's for the lab project we have to do. Granted nothing prophetical will happen, but at least we'll have something to eat," Marty replied. "So have you come down off of the high of being homecoming queen yet?"

"I think I'm allergic to being in black and white or something," Angela said. "I've had a cold. Other than going to class I've hardly left my room."

She shrugged. "What about you, homecoming king?"

"I told one of my friends back in Grosse Pointe about being king. He laughed for about five minutes straight. Marcella e-mailed back and demanded pictures," Marty smirked. "She also suggested that I refer to myself in the third person but I think I would get too many funny looks."

"We could use the royal we," Angela suggested. "Like, we would like to order orange chicken, what else do we want?" She frowned, not sure she'd gotten it right.

"Well we would be looking at the Mu Shu pork," Marty replied with a chuckle. "Perhaps her highness would like some egg drop soup or a fried wanton?"

"Wonton," Angela said immediately. "Egg drop soup reminds her highness of sno- unpleasant things."

She batted her eyelashes. "Would your majesty give us a pancake and a little pork in exchange for some of our chicken?"

"I'll give you pork in a pancake anytime you look at me that way," Marty said a little smitten.

Then he paused.

"Did that sound dirty?"

"Incredibly," Angela said. "We might kind of suck at the whole royalty thing."

"Rats. And I never got a chance to make anyone my court jester," Marty said in a "shucky-darn" kind of voice.

Angela quirked an eyebrow as she motioned the waiter over. "Did yoou have oone in mind?"

"Well Angel left before I could ask him," Marty joked. "I always thought he'd look good in those shoes with the curly toes and the bells at the end."

Angela grinned. "Pointy hat too, right?"

"And he'd have a red outfit with green patches," Marty said with a nod. "And he would dance for our amusement."

"Can he have a monkey?" Angela asked. "I like monkeys."

"Well the two kind of go together," Marty replied. "So I say yes. What about you? Is there anything you would like to have as the Queen?"

"Fat-free ice cream that tastes good and a guaranteed admission to the University of New York's creative writing program," Angela decided. "Oh, and the right to wear my tiara forever without anyone looking at me funny."

Marty paused briefly for a few seconds at the mention of UNY, but kept the grin on his face.

"Wouldn't that be uncomfortable when you try to go asleep at night?" Marty asked. "Plus do you want to get it wet in the shower?"

"It'd be hard to shampoo around," Angela decided. "But I'd like to wear it to class and stuff."

She was mentioning UNY to get herself used to the idea, which gave her pause as well.

"But you'd have to dress in an evening gown every day," Marty pointed out. "Wouldn't that get tiring? Or is there a casual everyday tiara available?"

"Definitely a casual everyday tiara," Angela decided. "Suitable for jeans or ballgowns."

"See... I think this is where the royal family in England got it all wrong," Marty said with a nod. "Every day tiaras. I'm betting Prince Charles and Di would be in a different place if they were allowed to wear their crowns with everyday clothes."

"DId I ever tell you my mom used to dream about her constantly?," Angela said, as the waiter arrvied with their food. "I have no idea why. Princess fantasy, or something."

"Really? I would never thought she was a fan of hers," Marty said pushing a pancake and some mu shu her way. "Did you ever want to be a princess?"

After looking around the entrance of the restaurant thoughtfully, Rosette considered her map. 'The building," she stated, for the sake of Chrono's notes, "is still on the old map, but I doubt if it was actually a Chinese resaurant back then. Although I think I recognized these words here from one of the other books to mean 'unfortunate cat.'"
