Luke's Diner - Early Evening

After cheer practice, Marie took a quick shower and changed her clothes so she and Willow could grab dinner at Luke's. Despite living in the same room, they'd barely had a chance to talk since Homecoming on Friday.

"I want anything that comes with French Fries," Willow said. "There is a craving and I must submit."

"I need a burger," Marie decided. "And onion rings. And a milkshake. I think it's a good thing we don't come here more often."

"Oo - milkshake!" Willow perked up. "One of those too, please. And... and I don't know what else yet. I just know I'd like it to be fried."

"Good thing being Homecoming princesses doesn't mean we have to eat like royalty," Marie said.

"See, I say the opposite," Willow replied. "We can eat like royalty in that we can eat whatever we want. Though we have to remember to have good posture while we do it."

Marie grinned. "Oooh, good point," she agreed. "So, did you and Peter have a fabulous night?"

Willow smiled. "We did, though it's a shame that he didn't win. How about you and Jamie?"

"We had a great time," Marie said. "And guess what? He wore gloves."

"Awww, that's so sweet of him," Willow said. "He's such a good guy."

"I know," Marie agreed. "I'm very lucky. I don't know how many guys would put up with not being able to kiss their girlfriends."

"Some guys are real gentlemen," Willow said. "They get that being with you is the important part, and the rest is just improv."

"That's how Peter is too, huh?" Marie asked.

Willow had a shy smile. "He says he loves me."

"Awwwww," Marie smiled. "I'm so happy for you."

"Thank you," Willow said. "He's such a wonderful guy. I never thought I'd find anybody like him."

"You deserve it," Marie said. "Because you're definitely a wonderful girl."

"We are well-matched then," Willow said. "Oo - speaking of, wanna split buffalo wings with me?"

"Yes, definitely," Marie nodded. "But only if we can get bleu cheese dressing."

"Also? Plenty of celery sticks," Willow said. "Not so much for the health reasons as an assurance that my taste buds will speak to me again."

Marie smiled. "Very good point, though it does add a bit of health to our meal too."

"You know what that means," Willow said, staring at the menu again. "We can have dessert. My thought? Chocolate cake."

"Oh, you can never go wrong with chocolate," Marie agreed. "Maybe I should skip the milkshake then."

"Have extra celery," Willow assured her. "It'll balance out."

Marie giggled. "Okay, if you say so," she said. "You're older and wiser, so I'll trust your judgment."

"We're walking back to school anyway," Willow said. "Which means that all things considered this meal will have no calories."
