The parking lot at the causeway and other places, after 6th period

Isabel had picked up the keys from Parker earlier and made a trip down between classes to load some stuff into the car. After Ethics she returned to her room, grabbed her backpack, and her iPod and headed out to the car smiling the whole way.

[ooc: open while she's on her way to the car. Otherwise it's locked to like_a_sponge. Okay to the say they left, but the rest is NFB due to distance.]

After class, Greg scurried out to the car to meet Isabel. "Hi!" he said brightly.

"Howdy!" she said, carefully wedging her bag into the trunk. "Ready to get out of here?"

"Can I drive?" he asked, bouncing around.

"How much caffiene have you had today?" Isabel asked, laughing at the bouncing.

"Only one cup of coffee," he answered proudly.

"As opposed to the other night? That was some radio broadcast." But she did hold out the keys.

"I felt Fandom needed more energy," he said, tossing his bag in the back and hopping behind the wheel.

"If they could have put you on one of those little gerbil wheels and hooked it up to the power system, you probably could have powered the entire island," Isabel said as she sat in the passenger seat. "The navigator picks the music."

"Don't put on any boy bands, or I'll dance," he threatened.

"You're a fan of boy bands?" Isabel stared, "Stop the car. I'm out of here."

"No, it was a threat," he replied, rolling his eyes. "Though now I think we should form one. Me, and John and Peter, and maybe Braidyman's kid."

"That's a seriously scary threat," she said solemnly. "The mere thought of it scares me to death." Isabel chuckled, "I'd be a groupie for you."

"And hence a motivation to be the next Justin Timberlake."

"Technically I'm already you're groupie. And I don't think I'd like sharing you with a million other adoring fans," Isabel admitted. "And you want to turn right up there to get on the interstate."

Greg obediantly turned right, zooming along a few miles over the speed limit. "You wouldn't have to share."

"I know that and you know that. But they wouldn't. At least until the first time I threw some overeager teenybopper into the wall," she said firmly. "Also, please do not be getting ticketed in Parker's car. She'll kill us."

"I won't," he assured her. "There's like, no speed limit on the freeway."

"You're kidding me right?" Isabel asked. "This is not Montana! It's semi urban Virginia."

"Yeah, but they're going like...ninety," he said, gesturing to some of the other cars. "That speed limit is more like a guideline than a rule."

"Obviously you've never lived in fear of law enforcement," she said somewhat seriously. "Back home we kept to the speed limit, we didn't want to draw attention to ourselves. The sheriff was already way too suspicious."

And that made him slow down quite a bit.

"Sorry," he said, glancing over at her.

"S'okay. It's all part of the hiding in plain site thing," she explained. "Never draw attention to yourself. At least the sheriff turned out to be a good friend after all. Maybe one day I'll introduce you, if you ever want to come visit Roswell that is."

"Of course I do," Greg said. "It's where you're from."

"It's boring," Isabel laughed. "There's no ocean. Only desert, cacti and some scrub pines. And there's always some sort of crisis it seem like. Which I do not miss at all."

"Well, we have Fandom. It's similar," Greg said.
