Aereopagitica: Wednesday [10-25]

Lana opened the store on time, still feeling rather pensive. She knew Jim must be getting concerned because she was being so quiet and withdrawn, but she just couldn't seem to snap herself out of it.

She sighed and got the store ready for the day.

"Tough," Lana said quietly. "Stirred up lots of things I didn't want to think about. But... it's over so hopefully things will get back to normal soon."

"As normal as it gets around here." Clark smiled slightly. Then he asked;

"Lex didn't cause any trouble?"

Lana sighed. "He's Lex. Of course he caused trouble. He had Jim investigated and made some nasty insinuations. And, of course, tried to get me to move back to Smallville. He'd like to see me dating my Clark - regardless of my feelings."

Clark blinked. "Sorry the idea of Lex Luthor trying to set me, or, another me up for any kind of happiness is hard to comprehend. He seemed...less troublesome than the Lex Luthor of my world."

"I don't know the Lex from your world, but my Lex would do just about anything for Clark. And I don't think he's a bad person. Just ruthless at times. And misguided on occasion."

"That's bizaar." Clark said. "Well here's hoping the me from your world can be a good influence on your lex, keep him from going down a similar road as the one in my world."
