Stuff for Sale - Saturday Morning [10/28]

Waking was a slow affair, filled with silliness held over from the night before. Eventually Wilson and Phale fell out of bed, through the shower and after a quiet breakfast they headed down in to town. They had a couple stops to make, to pick up food but also to Stuff for Sale and then over to All and Sundries just to make sure they had everything.

Wearing a turtleneck under one of the angel's sweaters, Wilson kicked at leaves as they walked along. They didn't really have time for proper leaf rustling but it was getting close to that time! In the meanwhile, Phale held the door for him as they stepped into the store.

"All right!" Said Wilson, digging into his back pocket and pulling out a small notepad he'd been keeping updated through the week.

"Let's see. First thing we need are some skeletons....paper, not real please."

Fandom. Best to be specific about these things.

"Paper skeletons," Aziraphale repeated, gazing about at the impressive array of Halloween themed items. "Er...do we want something spooky looking, or funny?"

He was looking over an array of decorations, ranging from a slightly annoying little ghost thing that had some kind of motor inside that made it giggle and flail, to a rather decent looking 'life size' skull creature (http://www.buycostumes.com/ProductDetail.aspx?productID=20242&PCatID=Search%20Results&ccatid=skull).

"This sort of thing, do you mean?"

"Yes!" Wilson exclaimed gleefully as he came over to check the thing out. "That'll be perfect. We can have them manning the casino games. Looks like a normal game and whamo...weirdness."

Petting the trailing fabric off the ghost, Wilson grinned and turned only to point towards another spooky figure (http://www.buycostumes.com/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=20708&PCatID=decorandprops&ccatid=animatedpropsdecor&CMP=ILC-content).

"How about him for at the front door?"

Aziraphale grinned and nodded. "We could have him taking the votes for the costume prizes, perhaps? Give him a box to put them. Do you think perhaps we ought to get streamers for the roof?"

The angel might have been planning a fair amount of 'miracling' of materials -- particularly the set up for their dance area on the roof -- but the more they could actually buy properly, the better.

Nodding in response to the comment about the streamers, Wilson spotted something out of the corner of his eye and he might have made a gleeful noise.

"We totally need this for (http://www.buycostumes.com/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=17494&PCatID=decorandprops&ccatid=decorandpropsglowinthedark&CMP=ILC-content) the roof top. He can be holding the stereo equipment."

Wilson exclamined, pulling the box with the skeleton down off the shelf.

"You know, we also need pumpkins. You could bring them to the clinic tonight for us to carve later?"

Really, Aziraphale wondered how people could profess to be frightened of the undead, and yet get so terribly excited over decorating their homes with skeletons and weird creatures.

"Of course, love. And I think the idea about pumpkins is wonderful. Perhaps we also ought to get some candy for the day itself, in case there are trick-or-treaters?"

Now, now... be fair. Wilson had never professed to being frightened of the undead! Oh, he'd been pretty careful around Angelus but that was just self preservation instincts kicking in.

"Remember to get something that you and I like to eat also, just in case their are left overs. Like maybe some chocolate covered, extra sour, gummiworms?" Wilson suggested before his attention was grabbed by theme decorating equipment and he darted down an aisle.

"Aziraphale! I found casino stuff!!!"

Wondering since when it was that he like chocolate covered extra sour gummiworms, seeing as how he'd never had them, Aziraphale chuckled and followed the young doctor across the store.

"That's wonderful, love. I suppse we should try and hunt up some different types of candies to be used instead of chips?"

Wilson turned and smiled at the angel, then snuck back to give him a quick kiss on the cheek.

"See, I knew there was a reason I adore you, you're brilliant. That'll be perfect, love. Keep things light and fun and in theme."

Blushing happily, Aziraphale returning the kiss, and then pointed out a collection of various candy coins. "Those look good, I think," he suggested, slipping an arm around Wilson's waist so the young doctor couldn't get away from him for a moment.

"Should we have paper plates and such for the food, or will our china do?"

Automatically curling his arm around the angel's waist, Wilson leaned against him as they picked through the candy coins.

"Paper." He said with a grin. "People will be wearing oversized hands and the like and, it will just be easier for everyone to have paper plates rather than worrying about something getting broken or someone getting cut on broken crockery. Also, easier to clean up in the wake of the party."

After a moment's pause, Aziraphale added, rather out of the blue, "Where do you think one might purchase a disco ball?"

"We should check All and Sundries for the disco ball I think." Wilson returned while he reached for the spookier plates.

"These, definitely."

Pause...wait for it...

"Wait, you really mean to set up a disco ball on the roof?"

Aziraphale nodded, looking a little sheepish. "Er...well, I thought it might be fun? And, since the whole point to Halloween seems to be something you're not, I thought...I ought to get into the spirit of it. Do you think it's a bad idea?"

Peeking around, just because he knew how Phale tended to flail in response to PDA, Wilson reached over and completed the hug briefly before straightening up to start collecting cups and plates.

"I think it's a wonderful idea, lover mine. Maybe we could even set up a dance floor with the multicolored lights?"

"The ones that spin and blink, you mean?" the angel replied, thinking of the couple of relevant movies he'd seen. "I like that, love. And I could program the stereo to play songs from that era, to complete the theme."

He let Wilson fill his arms up with various Halloween necessities, smiling affectionately. "Shall we have another ornament party this year, at Christmas?"

"Of course." Wilson said with a bright smile. "It was such fun when we did it last, even if it just ends up being us..."

Wilson paused, thought about it...then he blushed. "This is the first time you and I will get to decorate a home for the holidays."

Wilson didn't say Christmas because he was Jewish but he had always been rather hit or miss about his faith, it had always been more a thing for others than for Wilson himself and ever since Aziraphale coming into his life, everything was topsy turvey.

So, it more came down to activities they would enjoy indulging in together, than any particular observance of a specific set of holidays.

As if Aziraphale could actually claim a particular religious affiliation. But he'd enjoyed the holiday festivities that had taken place at the bookshop, and he turned to Wilson with a bright look in his eyes.

"Quite." There was a great deal of meaning conveyed in that single word. "Even if it's just us...although I expect we can find a few friends to share it with."

He'd have put his arms around the young doctor if they hadn't been full of Halloween sundries.

The grin grew into a full fledged smile and then Wilson piled a few more sets of plastic forks and spoons up on Phale's already full arms and winked.

"Come on, we need to hit a few more stores, lover mine and I need to do some prep work before the clinic tonight."

Turning away, Wilson headed towards the casino items to pick up what they would need, humming something that sounded like a song from the 70s. He might even have been swinging his hips, disco style!

The twins and Matilda after not yet played trip stroll into Stuff for Sale, prepared to search for some Three Musketeers costumes.

"...it does." They're pretty impressed by the bast array of costumes. The only problem? Where is this 'organization' that most costume stores would have? "I guess we...start looking." Kaoru scratched his head and thumbed through a nearby rack.

Kaoru puts on a mask and sneeks around into one of the racks to pop out at Matilda when she comes by.

"Ack!" Kaoru leaps forward himself to grab her because she's about to crash into a rack.

The mask falls off and he tints a little at her sudden close, close vicinity. "Ah..sorry." He smiles, looking guilty.

"Right." Matilda pulls away with a shy nod. "I was tripping is all..."

"Ooo" They both pull on the hats that accompany the costumes and hold them up. "Seem like they'd fit, ne?" Hikaru grins, the costumes reminding him of a few things they've already had to wear before.

She grinned and nodded. "You both look cute." Putting on a hat of her own she strikes a fake galant pose and fakes swinging a rapier in her hands.

"We're going to have to paint a fake mustache on you. It'll complete your cross-dressing experience." They both 'cling' their own fake swords together and wait for Matilda to join them in making the little triangle.
