An Alley: Evening
Marty had spent the entire weekend trying to avoid the memories of that day. In fact for the past year he had done his best to avoid this particular street unless absolutely necessary, let alone the alley.
It wasn't until he stepped in between the buildings that used to be a restaurant and a law firm that he noticed he was sweating despite the coolness of the evening and that he was gritting his teeth. He forced himself to relax slightly and take a couple of deep breaths before slowly walking toward the spot where it happened.
After standing there a few minutes he finally bent over and laid an arrangement of flowers near one particular wall. He closed his eyes for a few moments and then turned to walk away.
"I'm sorry Kitty," he whispered
And with that said? He left as quickly and quietly as possible.
