Movies in the Park, 10/08

It's the second to last week of the movie series, and the portable movie screen has been set up in the park. The outdoor gas heaters are also in place, to create a pleasant atmosphere for movie-watching, and some awnings have been erected to protect movie-goers from any possible precipitation.

Bring your date or meet your friends, or just find a quiet place to enjoy a good movie. The film begins at dusk.


[OOC: The movie begins at dusk, and the screen will be removed afterwards. OCD threads will be have been set up for your movie-going use. Anyone who needs the park for other purposes will find that the outdoor cinema takes up only a portion of the park, with plenty of space available for non-movie needs. The series will run for one more week following this show.

Grab a space in the grass to lay out your blanket, or bring along a lawn chair to relax in. Snuggle with your date, chat with your friends, enjoy a picnic dinner before the movie starts.

The twins were prepared for the drizzle with a waterproof blanket and a few umbrellas for them and Matilda.

Matilda followed with a bit of a skip. "I don't usually see movies. But this one is a good one I've heard."

"Yea, I've heard of it too. One of those 'classic american' movies, right? An old one?" Kaoru smiled and helped Hikaru spread out the blanket.

"Yeah. It's black and white." She nods and floats and umbrella over each of them, hands free coverage.

"What's it about?" Hikaru leans in against Kaoru so that he can assure that no drizzle makes it to his clothing.

During the Movie

No one minds if you talk at outdoor movie. Or if you huddle under the blanket with your date.

Tonight's movie is Casablanca (http://imdb.com/title/tt0034583/) with Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman.

Knowing that the series would be ending soon, Aziraphale and Wilson had decided this was a date tradition they couldn't miss. So once again the tartan blanket was spread out on the ground, with another to wrap themselves up in. No picnic tonight, but they did share a thermos of hot cider to ward off the chill.

After the Movie

They're taking down the screen until next week, but you can still talk about what you just saw, continue snuggling with your date, or make plans to meet your friends for drinks, a late dinner, or more socializing.
