Sparky Repairs, Thursday

It had been difficult trying to get back into the swing of homework, even after just a week of break. Unfortunately, it was already Thursday; they figured it was a good time to try and start working back into that swing finally. So, equipped with homework, the twins opened up the shop, set Emo and Goth to the task of standing at the counter, and sat behind said counter doing their work. Dull, dull day ahead...

Sparky's is open~

After handwavily trying to find them in their room and a handful of other possible places, Setsuna figured maybe they were at work and, since it was a nice day, she decided a walk into town would be nice, and she could stop by and see them.

She was glad to see that they were, in fact, on duty. "Hey, guys," she greeted them as she brushed into the shop.

She started pulling out the note from the rose from her pocket, unfolding it as she spoke, in a very business like manner, "You remember that class we had in Spying about deciphering codes?"

"Good, because I need your help." Setsuna smoothed the paper out on the counter. "See, I got this note yesterday, from Ranma. But I can't understand any of it. It's in Japanese; look, you can make out his signature...kind of...right here on the bottom. But his penmenship..."

Heh, well, she'd let his penmenship speak for itself. The chicken scratch barely even looked like Japanese, really, and more like random marks and squiggles.

Setsuna nodded, tried to ignore the little leap her heart did. She thought she'd gotten as far as interpreting that much, but dismissed it as a sort of wishful thinking manipulation how she saw the cryptic shapes. The whole 'see what you want to see' syndrom. She leaned on the counter on her side, over the note.

"I was thinking this," she pointed to the characters in question, "looks like // please //, but I'm not...sure..." She frowned deeply. She was so bad at codes...

"Well, it's entirely possible he writes like he speaks in Japanese," Setsuna said, looking up at them with a small smirk, "so it's probably riddled with grammatical errors..." She shook her head.

"Hey, do you think this might be //ready//?"

...Sorry, please, to hope, ready... Setsuna's cheeks looked a little pink as they got closer to revealing what the message might be saying. Did...did she really want it deciphered? She was starting to wonder....

Sakura had wandered her way into town with the intention of doing some shopping... Holiday-type things were coming up, after all. She needed to be early about getting gifts to send back to her friends and family in Japan, not to mention the people she knew at Fandom.

Christmas was one of those love-hate times of the year.

As she wandered past the shop, Sakura paused. The boys may have been hiding behind the counter, but she had the distinct feeling that she would find something entertaining in this shop. A bell on the shop door announced her entry, and she went immediately over to the counter. She leaned over it, and grinned.

Jackpot!

"What are you guys doing back there?" she asked, teasing.

"Really? For what class?" She hopped up onto the counter and sat cross-legged, chin in her palms looking down at them.

Sakura grinned. "...well what would y'guys say to a little... flying lesson?" She said, inspecting her fingernails.

Sakura grinned, nodding. "Of course! How else?"

Roof! :D

[identity profile] sakuracchyan.livejournal.com 2006-11-10 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
Sakura was the first to reach the roof, clunky hi-top sneakers making solid thunks against the metal stairs of the fire escape. She spun around once to make sure the boys were still following her, and dug her keycharm necklace out from beneath the collar of her hooded sweater. "Hoshi no chikara wo himeshi kagi yo, shin no sutaga wo ware no mae ni shimese. Keiyaku no moto, Sakura ga meijiru," She held the charm away from herself after drawing the cord it hung on over her head. "Release!" And whoosh, it grew into a staff like... well, like magic. She spun it between her fingers and turned, grinning at the boys.

"I hope neither of you are acrophobic."

A funny little grin slid across Sakura's face, and she spun the staff between her fingers again. "Now... who wants to go first?"

Sakura grinned. "Thank you for volunteering, Hikaru." She spun the staff again. "Gimme just a second here..." She shuffled through her deck of cards until she pulled out the Fly; adorned with the image of a long-necked bird on the face of the card. She showed it to him for a brief moment, then tossed it into the air, continuing to spin her staff until the card began to fall. She then took the staff with one hand and tapped one of the tiny wings to the face of the card, crying out "Fly!".

She commanded the card to give them the ability to do what it did best... And it exploded in a flash of light, the image on the card flying out of the face of the paper until it flapped its great wings once, and in the wind that errupted from it, Sakura's staff had grown its own set. At the end of the card where the star sat, a pair of large, white-feathered and bird-like wings rested. She smiled.

"It's been a while since I've had a passenger," she admitted, turning to Hikaru. "But Fly's never steered me wrong."

Sakura gave him a funny grin. "Are you sure that's wise, Hikaru?" She reached her hand out and put her index finger under his chin. "You never know what I could be plotting." The silly grin on her face was proof she didn't have anything other than some flying on a pink stick in mind, but she could still pretend. She held the staff straight. "Now then. It's kinda like those cheesey old movies about Witchcraft... Ride it like a broom, 'cept it's got wings to flap so the occasional loss in altitude is perfectly normal."
