Our Lady of Fandom; Tuesday [ 11/14 ]

Rosette was bored and thinking that she didn't particularly like any of the holidays for today, not enough to try to think of something to celebrate, anyway, so she started planning an excursion throughout the town when she remembered her conversation with John last week. It was Tuesday! Training! She remembered because it was allitrative.

TUESDAY:
Tuesday Training!
How to become a Warrior of God. Or Gods.

Of course, she had no idea what that meant or what sort of training that would entail, but she'd cross that bridge if she came to it.

Aziraphale actually had absolutely nothing to keep him occupied while Wilson was in class. Okay, that wasn't entirely true. He could have graded the essays his class turned in on Monday, or worked on preparing Friday's lab activities. But he felt more like being out and about, and his wandering feet led him to the church.

Remembering that he'd promised Rosette to try and stop in more often, he stepped inside and looked around, a little curious about the sign out front.

"Well, I must admit it did make me a little curious," Aziraphale replied, smiling. "How exactly are you going about training these...holy warriors?"

Because really? The last thing Fandom needed was to get started on some sort of Crusade.

Well, seeing as how current thinking was still favoring guns as a form of enforcing one's opinion -- in the right hands, of course -- Aziraphale didn't have objection on that front. Although it did seem as though Rosette's planning up to that point was a little shakey.

"Er...quite. Well, certainly...starting with a biblical history of famous warriors would be an excellent idea. Do you have a particular enemy in mind, or is this just...a 'being prepared' sort of endeavor?"

Aziraphale nodded. "I...do agree with that. Never hurts to be prepared. Well...er, do let me know if there's something I can do to help," he added, a little hesitantly.

Chuckling, Aziraphale shook his head. "I'm afraid I don't recall very many sects of Warrior Nuns where I'm from," he agreed. "But I haven't exactly done much in the way of battle myself lately."

Not since the almost-Apocolypse, anyway. And there wasn't even any actual fighting then.

Considering the nature of Aziraphale's last mission, he couldn't say he felt the same. But he patted Rosette's shoulder reassuringly and smiled.

"Think of this as a vacation. I'm certain you'll get back to having missions soon, and when you do, you'll be rested and ready to put even more energy into them. Plus, you'll have an advantage over the other nuns in your order, because I'll bet not many of them have met the sorts of people you're getting to know here."

Aziraphale didn't know the details of what Rosette meant by her retirement, but it was obvious she wasn't happy about the idea. He tilted his head, and frowned thoughtfully.

"Perhaps...you could just take a semi-retirement. Like me, for instance. I mean, not that I'm retired, but...I mostly do quiet things like teach and thwart, with the occasional mission added in."

Aside from the times that demons decided to take on personal vendettas, that was. Really, a pissy demon could put a major kink in one's vacation.

"Aren't you teaching right now?" Aziraphale countered, smiling. "You teach by offering information about the holidays you've been advertising. And your sign today is offering even a traditional sort of lesson, how to be a warrior for HIM."

John wandered in, wondering if this would have anything to do with warrior nun sex sects.

"Sweetness!" JOhn grinned back at her.
