Movies in the Park, (11/15)

It's the very last week of the movie series, and the movie screen has been set up in the park. The outdoor gas heaters are also in place, to create a pleasant atmosphere for movie-watching, and some awnings have been erected to protect movie-goers from any possible precipitation.

Bring your date or meet your friends, or just find a quiet place to enjoy a good movie. The film begins at dusk.

[OOC: The movie begins at dusk, and the screen will be removed afterwards. OCD threads ~~will be~~ have been set up for your movie-going use. Anyone who needs the park for other purposes will find that the outdoor cinema takes up only a portion of the park, with plenty of space available for non-movie needs.

Grab a space in the grass to lay out your blanket, or bring along a lawn chair to relax in. Snuggle with your date, chat with your friends, enjoy a picnic dinner before the movie starts.

Weiss is laid out on a blanket. He has a basket with the snack foods (fully moddable) and the drinks (soda) and the Drinks (tequila, vodka). He's waiting for whatever friends stop by.

Didn't take too long for Mac to find Weiss and his blanket. "Well if it isn't my bestest hot stuff internet stalker," she said grinning down at him.

"Ah-ha. So it's you. And so I wasn't lying about you being hot. Sweet."

Mac grinned broadly and blushed in the direction of the floor. "And hey, I ever figure out how to blackmail someone into giving me that island? You're totally welcome to lounge on my beaches."

"Sweet. Now I've got you and Parker offering me visitation rights on your islands of perpetual hanging out. Are my friends awesome or what?"

"With me, you gotta wait until I actually acquire said island," Mac pointed out. "Could be a long time coming. Who knows," she said as she pulled out a packet of chocolate covered peanuts. "You happen to have a spare corner of blanket? I can trade food in return?"

"Yes, please. Join with the blankety goodness. How're things? How's Cally?"

Mac sat herself down on an edge of the blanked and put the chocolate down near Weiss' basket. "I'm good, Cally's... good, together we make a whole heap of good," she said. After a couple of moments of thought she added, "She's suddenly making fireballs out of thin air,which is, well, weird and a little worrying, but other than that."

"Okay... that's not something you expect out of your significant other..."

"Well, it's definitely not what I expect," Mac said. "Although, I think some people around here might not find it quite so weird."

"I guess. I've thankfully been spared the magical hijinks for the most part," Weiss said.

"I said that, then I had the thing with the tortillas." Mac smiled knowingly. "Give it time and magical hijinks will find their way to you, no problem," she said leaning back on her hands on the blanket.

"Mister Weiss!" Dawn called, heading over with her own blanket. Being a California girl, she was also wearing a sweater and had a hat, scarf, and big pink mittens with her. "I have hot chocolate and cookies to contribute."

She put the thermos and cookie bag on the ground, then ~~very anally~~ spread out the blanket, stretching out on her stomach. "Think it's gonna snow?" She'd been looking forward to snow since they'd had it in July.

Weiss shrugged. "I have no idea. I'm from LA. This sort of climate is beyond me."

"Me too," she looked up at the sky, "and in case you're wondering, willing it to snow? Totally inefficient."

"Um, I'll keep that in mind?" Eric opened the basket. "You are welcome to any of the mystical magical goodies in the basket of Weiss-y joy."

Dawn blinked at him for a minute, then figured he hadn't meant that to sound quite so dirty. "Are they really mystical and magical?"

"Uh, no. But they are tasty."

"Dude. Are those Bugles?" One would think it was tough to bounce on a blanket. For Dawn? Not so much. Probably something about spending the afternoon stalking zombies with her boyfriend.

"Yeah. In a variety of flavors. Help yourself."

Dawn took a handful and munched, thinking of Clem. "All recovered from Vegas?"

Nadia wandered up and waved. "Hey, Eric,"

"Heeeeey, how's it going?"

"Not bad. Got your email."

[ooc: and if I vanish or replies are slow? That's because I got home from work to find that my laptop was . . . deadish.]

"Cool. Have fun. Clark Gable Claudette Colbert. Should be a grand old time," Weiss said. "Have a snack. Or a drink."

[OOC: Totally cool]

Nadia eyed the tequila. "Only if you promise me I won't end up chasing any cows."

[ooc: scratch the '-ish'. *sighs and is glad for backing things up*]

"I absolutely promise no cow-chasing. Cow-tipping, maybe."

"That I've never done, I am proud to say. But if you think it might be fun, perhaps I'll give it a chance."

Billy scrambled up into a tree near the viewing ground. He had a water bottle and a bag of pita chips. He was set.

Clark wasn't certain about going to what basically amounted to a date movie without a date, but he really did not feel like sulking in the hotel.

Unfolding a lawn chair and setting a thermos and picnic basket beside him, he waited for the movie to start.

yes, those are cookies you smell from the basket.

Clad in one of her lighter sweaters, and the lovely pair of jeans she'd found while shopping, Laura spread a blanket out on the lawn. She then set up her picnic, consisting of a warming soup, a nice slice of baguette, and a couple of different drinks. The cooler temperatures didn't seem to bother her too much as she sat, eating, and waiting for the show to begin.

No one minds if you talk at outdoor movie. Or if you huddle under the blanket with your date.

Tonight's movie is It Happened One Night (http://imdb.com/title/tt0025316/) with Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert.

Not wanting to miss out on their weekly date night, Aziraphale and Wilson were in the park just before the movie began, snuggled up together with their tartan blanket.

They're taking down the screen until next week, but you can still talk about what you just saw, continue snuggling with your date, or make plans to meet your friends for drinks, a late dinner, or more socializing.
