Mac turned up, all layered up from the walk over, because for some reason she really seems to feel the cold.

It didn't take her long to find Cally, and she made her way over with a slight bounce in her step. "Happy two months of togetherness," she said, jumping straight in and forgoing normal greetings, because just saying 'Hi' seemed boring.

"Happy two months," Cally repeated back with a smile. "Now hopefully it won't all go downhill after I kick your butt at bowling." She punctuated that bit with a wink.

Mac raised an eyebrow in a look of mock offense. "I'll have you know, I made google cough up some bowling tips," she said as she unwound her scarf. She grinned and added, "I am so in there.

"You... oh man, I am so toast," Cally said with a chuckle. "I got you your shoes already. I would apogolize for how dorky they look but... they're bowling shoes."

"So organised," Mac said, taking a closer look at the shoes. "And, definitely a uh, fashion statement, thanks."

"The tips were mostly 'Keep a good grip on the ball', which, seriously, like I didn't know that dropping it on my foot was a bad idea," she continued as she fiddled with the shoelaces.

"Yeah, no foot dropping," Cally said. "That would be very, very bad." She ran a hand through her bangs. "So, up to you. You want to go first or second?"

"I think I'll let you lead the way," Mac replied grinning up at Cally once she'd finished putting on the shoes. "Let's see what you've got."

"Oh, I got a lot," Cally said, hefting the bowling ball she'd picked out.

Cause it was orange.

She looked down the lane and grinned. "They'll never know what hit them."

She pulled back her arm, approached the lane, and promptly sent her ball right into the gutter.

Mac pressed her lips together in order to supress her smirk, and nodded sagely. "Nope, they sure won't."

Cally stuck her tongue out at Mac as she wandered over to the ball return and waited patiently. "I'm just not warmed up, that's all."

When she got her ball back, she tried again... and clipped a single pin down.

"Lowest score wins, right?"

"You realise that if we play it that way, I'm going to win, right?" Mac asked wandering over to pick out a shiny looking ball. The smoother the better when it comes to bowling, or so she'd heard anyway.

"I think we've already made it pretty clear that this really isn't about who wins or loses," Cally said.

"You've got to at least keep up the pretense that we care, though," Mac replied. "It's all part of the competitive spirit of the game, or something."

She tapped on a couple of balls, a kind of eeny-meeny-miny-mo, before giving up on that and selecting a purple one, purely because it was a pretty colour.

Mac grinned at Cally and continued with, "and I think I might have been chanelling 'Bob's Awesome Bowling Bits' page with that last part."

Cally smiled. "Well, if we're gonna put up pretenses, maybe we should... put a bet on the game?"

"Oh?" Mac said curiously, taking herself and her ball off towards the lane itself. "What kind of bet?" she asked as she fiddled to get a better grip.

"Oh, see, that's the thing," Cally said. "I can't exactly bet money or anything."

"Well, I'm not exactly rolling in it either," Mac pointed out.

She made a couple of practise swings before sending her ball rolling down the lane. It seemed to be going okay, until the last five feet or so when it veered off to one side only catching one pin and making one other wobble precariously.

Mac wrinkled her nose at her bad luck and went to collect another ball. "I'm sure we can find some other form of currency."

"Are you suggesting what I hope you're suggesting?" Cally said with a smirk.

"Maaaybe," Mac drew out as she collected her ball. She was actually going for mysterious, but her grin might ruin that impression just a tad.

"Well then, we'll just have to see what happens, huh?" Cally said, grinning as well. "Let's see what you got."

This time Mac didn't bother lining it up and doing practise swings like she did before, she just sent it in the right direction. Why is it that no finesse works better than when she actually put effort in?

"I got me a winning streak," she said with a grin and a satisfied nod. "Or, in as much as three out of ten can actually be considered a win, anyway."

"Well, you are winning, now," Cally said. "We better lay out the rules for this bet before we get too far." She stood up and picked up her ball.

"It's better to know what you're getting into with things like this," Mac agreed, standing back to watch. "What did you have in mind?"

"Oh, I dunno," Cally said. "I was debating wagering something a little, oh, I dunno... sexual."

And wham, there went another bowl of Cally's, right into the gutter.

Which made sense, given that's where her mind was.

Mac smirked and leaned back against the table. "And here I was, all ready to clean your room, and make you breakfast, if I lost," she said.
