The Park, Monday evening

Life was treating Peter pretty well at the moment. He helped fight some trolls to save the day yesterday, his one class today was cancelled - due to an unfortunate injury to the professor, may he have a speedy recovery - and he was on his way to Luke's Diner to meet Zero for a celebratory date. It would be pretty hard to knock Peter out of his current mood.

That's why when he saw a strange - but somewhat familiar - man in the park looking for something, he decided to walk over and lend a hand. "Excuse me? Can I help you with something?"

[OOC: Thread with [livejournal.com profile] swerval_zero locked, please. Guest character is here for a brief seasonal plot.

Once this is done, the park is open for all of your parkly needs.]

"Donner? Blitzen? Where have you gotten--I say, there you are, elf!" Santa cried.

"I was wondering where you'd gotten off to," said Santa. "Have you seen the other elves? Or my reindeer?"

The problem was, this was not Santa. This was William "Brainstorm" Bernhardt, a psychokinetic who thought he was Santa Claus, and who had once again escaped from Neopolis Psychiatric earlier in the day. Unfortunately, Peter had no way of knowing this.

"It's Christmas all the time with Santa! Are you being...naughty, elf?" Santa asked.

"You doubt me? Naughty elf!" Santa said. "Now, come along, we've got lots of toys to make before Christmas."

"Stop being silly, you can't fool Santa, elf," Santa insisted. "We need to hurry if we're going to have these toys ready by Christmas. Don't want to let the children down, do we?" But Santa seemed a touch less jocular, as if he was getting tired of arguing with this stubborn, wayward elf.

And with that, Santa kind of lost it. Using only the power of his mind, he grabbed Peter and tossed him into a nearby tree. "ELF! HOW DARE YOU DEFY SANTA??"

And then Santa picked Peter up and shook him. Again, without touching him. "YOU WILL OBEY SANTA, NAUGHTY ELF!"

Santa shook him a few more times for good measure. "Yes! You! Are!"

"No!" Santa said. But instead of shaking Peter some more, he threw him into another tree before holding him suspended in midair and glaring at him.

"Well," Santa said in a disturbingly kindly voice. "That was a mistake. Come along now, elf." And then he bonked Peter's head against a tree. When he was sure he was unconscious, he slung the elf over his shoulder and started off toward the mansion he had taken over while he was away from the North Pole.
