Tuesday:
Feast of Masá'il

...Rosette was mostly relying on the fact that everyone else on the island would be as clueless as her on that one and not as too many questions, unless that was what was supposed to happen on the Bahá'í Feast of Questions.

Today was a day for working outside, with a lot of ladders, stringing up lights on the outside of the church.

A feast for the Bahá'í faith? That was unusual.

Lucifer stood and watched Sister Rosette string lights, waiting for her to notice his presence.

The noticing didn't come until Rosette, having finished her area under an awning, went to toss the remainder of the string of lights to Chrono ("Oi! Chrono! Incoming!"), and the string of lights fell not into his waiting hands but went ravelling down to the ground, danging from the last spot she'd tacked in place. "Chrono?" Rosette blinked, looking over at the demon on the other ladder, who was staring past her with wide, red eyes.

"Chrono?" Still nothing. How...peculiar. Rosette frowned at him a moment before nervously turning her head to follow that unsettling stare.

"Oh! TBC! Hey!" She started clunking down the ladder. "You're earlier than I expected." Feet on solid ground, she smoothed out the skirt of her habit and turned toward him with a grin. "Just in time to help put up lights."

Chrono was slowly decending his own ladder now.

Lucifer looked over at Chrono briefly before turning his attention back to the nun. "I wouldn't want to keep a lady waiting."

His eyes lit up and he tried to keep from laughing when she asked him to help with the lights.

She hadn't asked. Picking up a string of lights, Rosette held them out to Lucifer. "You can get the tree over there and the bushes. Unless you wanna do the awnings, too. We might have another ladder. Hey, Chrono, is the--"

When Rosette turned to Chrono as found him suddenly at her elbow, still staring, pale-faced, she jumped a bit in surprise. "Hey, Chrono. Chrroooono, wake up, Chrono." She waved her hand in front of his face. He didn't blink.

"I know you," Chrono said, finally blinking, with a small step forward. His voice sounded dark, as if stuck in his throat.

"Uhh..." Rosette just rubbed the back of her neck nervously. Fine time to go all weird creepy demon, Chrono, geeez...

Lucifer stared at the ball of lights being shoved at him. Did she put them in a knot on purpose?

He looked up at Chrono and raised an eyebrow. "Really? How nice."

He was every bit like Chrono imagined he might be, too. "What..."

"Chrono, you know TBC? Really? When'd you guys meet? You never leave the church."

Chrono's attention shifted toward Rosette, blinking at her. TBC? What the hell? How did....Rosette know him? Did Rosette know him? The way she shoved the lights at him, the way she refered to him so casually. ...She was really clueless, wasn't she?

...Hoo boy.

"Uh, no. We haven't meet." His eyes snapped back to Lucifer. "Thought he was someone else for a moment."

Pippi flounced into the church.

"I heard something about Argentine Tango?"

Rosette pouted a bit, hating to be the bearer of bad news. "You missed it. That was yesterday."

Pippi pouted too.

"So... Not today at all? Not even a little bit?"

"Well, maybe. You'll have to convince Chrono to play it on the organ, but, I gotta warn ya, Pippi, he's not very good at it."

"How is he at the Tango?"

"The dance itself? Can't say I'm sure. Oi! Chrono! Wanna come show Pippi how you dance?"

Chrono looked up from untangling lights with an arched eyebrow. "Uhhh...Do I have to?"

Rosette giggled. "He's not in a good mood today."

"Hello Pippilotta," Lucifer greeted the flouncing girl.

"Hello Light Bringer!" the flouncing girl greeted.

"I have not seen you at the club recently," Lucifer said, a touch of disappointment creeping into his voice.

"I'll have to do something about that then." Pippi grinned. "I was out of town for most of the weekend, so I wasn't here. And finals are coming up so I been studyin'."

Had she actually been studyin'? Who knows?

"I suppose." It was a good enough excuse to appease him. Not as good as Wilson's had been, but it worked.

Some days you just get one of those gifts that make you smile. Today, was one of those days and as Wilson happened to be walking back to the apartment from teaching his class he walked past the church just in time to witness Rosette handing Lucifer a ball of Christmas lights (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/1274197.html?thread=57768277#t57768277).

Pausing in mid step, Wilson back peddled a bit up the sidewalk, just to make sure he really was seeing this. Ah yep...that was a ball of holiday lights being held out towards Lucifer, Wilson covered his grin mouth with his hand and wondered just how horrible a death he would suffer if he tried to take a picture of this with his camera phone.

Luckily for Wilson, Lucifer hadn't noticed him yet, so a quick picture might also pass under the radar.

Had Lucifer been aware of the picture, the phone would be a small pile of melted plastic.

He would never be able to live a picture like that down.

Wilson quickly repocketed the phone and went back to looking innocent.

Well, actually he went back to standing there with his arms crossed, watching and being highly amused.

Rosette noticed the spectator after returning from her test to omgwtf comment exposion on a church thread and waved. "Hello, Doctor! Would you like to help, too?"
