The Park - Friday
Packing Phale off to deal with his juvenile deliquents students, Wilson had puttered around the apartment, finishing up the last bit of decorating before deciding to get outside for a bit. Bundling up he swung by the Perk for a coffee and a scone, then headed down to the park.
Feet carried him on automatic pilot down to the bench and he settled himself comfortably in the middle, looking out across the duck pond with a content sigh. The only thing that could make the day more perfect, would be some snow.
[ooc: Feel free to poke at the benchstealing sitting doctor or use for your own wacky park needs!]

Talk to Wilson
Wilson was perfectly distractable.
Re: Talk to Wilson
She spotted Dr. Wilson as she made her way through the park and went over to say hello, unsure if he had heard anything about her being gone.
"Hi," she said quietly, not wanting to disturb whatever he was working.
Re: Talk to Wilson
Wilson's head came up quickly when he heard Marie's voice and a warm smile danced across his features.
"Marie!"

Re: Talk to Wilson
Shifting on the bench, Wilson gave it a small pat to invite her to join him if she wished.
"I've been doing well, gearing up for the end of the school year and the holidays. How are you doing? When did you get back?"
Re: Talk to Wilson
The other part of what Wilson said caught up with her. "I haven't even thought about holiday shopping. I need to get on that."
Re: Talk to Wilson
"Marie, that's wonderful news, I mean...about the re-enrolling." He frowned then, his expression becoming pensive.
"I don't mean to pry but...would you be able to tell me what happened? Did something go wrong with the file I worked up for you?"
He could make assumptions, given what little he knew but Wilson felt it more pertinent to ask Marie directly and let her give him the details, if she wouldn't mind talking.

Re: Talk to Wilson
Obviously, nothing good but again, Wilson didn't want to make any assumptions.
Re: Talk to Wilson
She bit her lip and fidgeted for a moment. "On Sunday, they had company and I had to hide in my room. I managed to take advantage of their distraction and sneak out and get to the train station."
Re: Talk to Wilson
"You don't worry that they're going to check here first, Marie?" He asked softly. "Did you...leave them a note?"
Because if it was his daughter who was suddenly just missing...Wilson knew he'd be burrowing under any and all rocks with not a single one left unturned.
Re: Talk to Wilson
She took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. "Principal Washburn removed them from my records."
Something else that Principal Washburn had said flitted through her mind and she bit her lip as she looked up at Dr. Wilson.
Re: Talk to Wilson
"Marie, I'm so sorry it had to work out like this." He said with genuine regret. "I think, your parents are being very foolish in their decision and I wish it could be otherwise for you three."
Re: Talk to Wilson
Re: Talk to Wilson
"You do at that and they'll support you through this, Marie and maybe after a little bit of time has passed..." He didn't want to see her close the door entirely on her parents but he also knew that right this minute was not the time to be painting a picture of a sunshine and roses reunion.
"So, you are back...back in classes just in time for finals and we'll just look forward at all the possibilities, right?"
Re: Talk to Wilson
There may have been a speculative glance cast in Wilson's direction.
Re: Talk to Wilson
Smiling, he nodded in agreement with Washburn's assessment of the situation.
"I think that's an excellent idea Marie. That way you get a say in who will looking out for your best interests until you're of a legal age."

Re: Talk to Wilson
Leaning his cheek against his folded knuckles, Wilson smiled and asked.
"Do you have any idea who you might want? Is there a family member who could help you or someone here at the school?"
Re: Talk to Wilson
She hesitated, twirling her finger around one of her white streaks. "Um... do you think you'll be around for the next few years?" she asked awkwardly.
Re: Talk to Wilson
Wait for it.
Clue by four at twelve 'o clock!
Wilson blinked, then he blinked again. His mouth opened, shut then opened and then shut then he gave another curious little blink and a small smile started to grow on his lips.
"Well...now that you mention it, I rather imagine I will be."
Re: Talk to Wilson
When the smile appeared, she returned it with a nervous one of her own.
"I trust you," she said. "You've helped me a lot. I understand it's kind of a huge thing to ask, but..." she trailed off, unable to find the right words.
Re: Talk to Wilson
"It is..." He agreed, then quickly smiled. "It's also very...I mean...flattering, Marie. But, are you sure?"
Dark eyes looked at her with worried curiosity. "I mean, it would be a big committment, on both our parts."
Re: Talk to Wilson
Re: Talk to Wilson
"I think that's a good idea. Let me read up a little on what being a legal guardian entails and then we can sit down and talk about what you want and need from me for the next couple of years."
He sounded...like he was being cautious but he also sounded, rather...pleased and excited about the idea as well. Obviously he was not asking for time in order to come up with a way to say no.
Just the opposite in fact, he wanted to make sure they were both in the best position possible to say yes!

Almost. He took hold of the belt at the hip and led the legs towards Venture industries.
