The Perk - Saturday Afternoon

After the last couple of days in Tortall, which had only been an afternoon Fandom-time, Kawalsky was in need of caffeine. The best place for caffeine was the Perk, so he was here ordering the biggest cup of coffee they had.

[OOC: Open for all your Perk needs. Thread with Aly is just for K and Aly.]

"That's my preferred situation," Aly replied, making a face at him for the bad pun."

Aly raised her coffee to him. "Good." She smiled. "I'm glad you were there for Alanna."

"As well you should be." Aly's smile broadened into a grin. "It was a huge honour. Meet two kings, watch a knighting."

"He didn't just make up the title," Aly said. "He killed the previous King for it. His people pay him the tax and more respect than they'd give the 'actual' King. He also knows more than the King of Tortall about what goes on in the cities most of the time."

Oh hey, Aly completely out of sorts? Why, yes, that was what just happened. She attempt to cover up her flailage with a sip of coffee then shrugged. "Hardly matters that you know, does it?"

Aly continued to internally chastise herself being far too comfortable and not watching what she was saying. She shrugged again. "Can't see how it would no matter what happens."

"No, just a statement of fact," Aly replied. "If you never go back to Tortall again, the fact that you know something about someone you once met there is irrelevant. If you do go back, you've already met him, you obviously already knew he was King of Thieves which means either he or Alanna trusts you, and so what I told you is basically common knowledge."

The sweet, sweet smell of justification.

Aly paused, ready to defend herself, and then chuckled. "Yes, well, I learned from the best. Doesn't mean it's not true."

Aly smirked. "Then we're agreed."

"Good then," she said with a nod and a grin. She paused for a second. "But I should probably continue actually writing a final exam. Not that I don't think my students wouldn't be happy without one. Tell Alanna I wished her well if she emerges from her cave?"
