The Perk, Sunday Afternoon

After seeing Wilson off at the edge of the park, Aziraphale walked down to the Perk and found himself a quiet table in the corner. With a cup of apple spice tea at hand, he spread a couple of books and a handful of papers out on the table and commenced to working on his class syllabus for next term.

Bel wandered into the Perk early afternoon in search of some caffeine. He spied Phale at his table and headed over in that direction.

Looking up at Bel approached, Aziraphale smiled with relief at seeing the young man at least not sporting any casts or braces or obvious bandaging.

"Join me, my dear, if you like," he said, clearing a space on the table. "How was your trip?"

Bel still was a little stiff from Logan...his FIGHT with Logan, thank you very much...and his face was bruised, but no big obvious injuries. He sat down at Phale's table. "It was...interesting," he said. "Alanna kicked some serious ass."

"Yours?" he asked, with a little wry smile, eyeing the bruises. "I do hope this wasn't...related to the problems we were discussing on Friday."

Aziraphale worried -- he couldn't help but worry -- but he wasn't getting the sense from Bel's body language that Raynor was involved in this one.

[ooc: Have to disappear for an hour or so, then will be back!]

Bel chuckled a little and absently rubbed his jaw. "No, that's from Logan. But he didn't kick my ass. I kicked his," he added defensively. "He figured since I was human he'd have a go at me."

Shaking his head, Aziraphale asked, "Why is it that the of you just can't see one another without wanting to do harm?" His voice was full of amusement, though, and he watched Bel over the brim of his teacup.

"Do you still intend to go through with your plan? Or is there a chance I can talk you into trying something else?"

"Because he's an ass," Bel muttered.

He sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. "I don't have time to think of something else. Raynor's gonna know I'm human now any minute now. I can't waste any time."

"No, I don't suppose you can." Aziraphale nodded his agreement, although he still very much disliked the idea.

"Well then..." Taking a deep breath, he said, "I think I've solve the problem of your return trip."

"You have?" Bel said eagerly. "How?"

The angel shifted a bit nervously in his seat. "I, er...called in a favor from an old friend. He'll meet you in the Underworld and arrange for you to get out. Although I can't guarantee where you're likely to end up once that happens. Has an odd sense of humor, you know."

"As long as we're out of the Underworld and can find our own way home, I don't care much where we end up," Bel said, too anxious to pick up on Phale's discomfort.

[ooc: now I have to run out for a bit...back in an hour or so.]

"Well then, I think we can promise that much. And of course, once you're back in the mortal world, I'll be able to help you again if there's anything you need."

Aziraphale sipped at his tea, still a little uncertain -- okay, a lot uncertain -- about the whole thing. But he'd promised Bel, and he intended to keep that promise.

[ooc: All righty!]

Bel nodded. "Phoebe won't let me go alone, and Cam and Isabel have both offered to help," he said. "That won't be a problem, the four of us, will it?"

[ooc: scratch that, here for another half hour, then I'm gone.]

It was going to take a bit of research, and probably a lot of energy, but Aziraphale thought he could manage it.

"No...I don't think so. It would be best if we could meet at the apartment and do it from there. I'd like James to be present, so he can help me if I need it. And if any of you possess any charms or talismans that protect you from magic, it might be best if you didn't wear them. Just to be on the safe side, so that no one ends up someplace they're not meant to be."

[ooc: Sorry, RL issue, didn't mean for this to lag so long. :/]

"That's fine with me," Bel said. "Does the day after tomorrow, Tuesday, work for you okay?"

[ooc: no problem, just got home]

"I don't see why not. James has an afternoon class, but can I assume that you'll all be waiting until after classes are finished before making your journey?"

There might have been a bit of the professor peeking through that remark.

Bel nodded. "'Course," he said. "Late afternoon, after classes. It hopefully won't take long and we'll be back by evening."

Oh, Aziraphale desperately hoped that would be the case.

"I'll talk to James about it, then, and meet you at the apartment after classes are finished. Just...do promise me that you'll all be careful?"

"Definitely," Bel said, mostly meaning it. "I don't want to get killed. I just want to find my father and set him free."

"And I can't blame you for wanting that at all."

Aziraphale smiled ruefully, knowing that if he were in Bel's situation, he'd be doing the same thing.

"Tuesday it is, then. I'll make certain your ride home knows to expect the four of you then."

Bel stood up. "Thanks," he said. "And if there's ever anything I can do to repay you...."

"Just keep yourself and your friends in one piece, my dear, and that'll be repayment enough."

Aziraphale stood as well, and on an impulse took advantage of the fact that his touch no longer burned the former half-demon, and gave Bel a quick hug.

"Been spending too much time with Blair, I expect," he remarked, with a wink.

Bel had to admit, it was kind of nice not to feel anymore pain when being hugged by an angel. "Yeah, I can't be the poster child for his hug-a-demon campaign anymore, can I?" he said with a wry grin. "I'm gonna go make some calls, and I'll see you in class tomorrow."

"Blair's a creative young man, I'm sure he'll think of something," Aziraphale chuckled in reply. He nodded, and cast a rueful glance at the papers spread out on the table.

"I'd best be getting back to sorting this out myself. Take care, my dear, and I'll see you in class."

Bel gave Phale a little wave and headed out the door.
