James T. Kirk Memorial Causeway: after classes

Going back to 1955 was requiring fashion sacrifices. Parker had opted for a longer skirt than usual; flatter heels than usual; and a trenchcoat, because hey, that's classic. She had a folded-up copy of the newspaper article in one pocket, and a set of kid's walkie-talkies for communicating if they got separated in Crabapple Cove.

She was waiting for the group; as soon as everyone was there and Willow had given them whatever spell she'd worked up, it was time to go retrieve Hawkeye.

Parker had debated taking Dave, then realized she'd stand out way too much. So they were going to have to hoof it.

Everyone was waiting on Willow to explain how they were going to get back.

And Parker was still obsessing on her Interstellar Relations Final.

Parker looked around. "Okay. Which way to Hawkeye's place? I have an address for his dad, but I'm not the one with the map."

It looks like a nice house. Nice roses out front.

Parker was hoping Isabel would be the one to ring the doorbell, so she wouldn't have to.

Hunh. "Does that old guy look kind of Hawkeye to you?" Parker asked, pointing to an older gentleman, sixtyish, who was shoveling snow off the sidewalk.

[for Hawkeye's dad to ping in; respond at will, when he arrives]

This would be where being possessed by a teenage girl from 1950's New Jersey over the summer comes in handy.

She even wearing her Pink Lady jacket...

Hey.

Willow was there. She had a backpack full of books, her laptop, and magic supplies.

Of course this was her yellow happy face backpack, but she saw no reason why rescue missions couldn't be cheery.

"Hey, Willow. Did you get all your spells ready?" Parker handed her a walky-talky. "In case we get separated once we're there."

"Hey, Pippi." Parker shuddered when she saw the jacket. "Excuse me while I have a bad magic flashback."

"Yep," Willow said. She turned her walkie talkie on to make sure the battery was good. "Locator, shield, find our way home, and teeth whitening."

"Yeah, sorry... It was all I had that would blend in."

"No, no. I just hope no one expects us to drag race down the Main Street." Parker smiled. "Glad you could make it. And hopefully we can fit in long enough to find Hawkeye. That's all that matters."

Parker blinked. "Tell me that's not all the same spell? Especially the teeth whitening."

"Hopefully, we'll be less likely to burst into song..." Pippi nodded. "So... How does this work?"

Willow gave her a look of 'Duh' "Of course not. How could we shield and get home at the same time?"

"Of course not," Parker echoed. "Silly of me. But thanks for doing this. Do we need to do anything, or hang onto something, or do you just get it up and running, and we follow your lead back when we need to?"

"As soon as we're all here, I think we just head across, aiming for Crabapple Cove, Maine, 1955. It's the Causeway; it just takes you where you're supposed to be. I think," Parker added, unsure. "Willow has a spell to make sure we get back okay, and locate us if we get lost."

Isabel had dropped off Benjamin, changed into something a little more conservative and fifties-ish, then slowly walked through the snow down to the causeway, hoping like hell Greg wasn't going to be mad. But she had left him a ~~handwavey~~ message earlier in the day, and at this point it was too late to worry about it. Of course tonight she was going to have to come home and leave him a message about yet another rescue mission. Yup, he definitely wasn't going to be happy.

"Follow my lead," Willow said. "I didn't want to take a chance on anybody dropping anything and then we lose them back in 1963."

"Works for me," Parker said as Isabel walked up. "Or messing up the timeline somehow. Although I don't think we could accomplish that. Well, beyond what we're *planning* on messing up."

"Hey, Isabel. You ready for this?" Parker cocked her head. "Good outfit choice."

"Don't step on any bugs," Willow advised.

Pippi nodded.

"So, the Causeway just knows?"

"We can always tell it, just to be sure. And Willow might have to find the right one. But that's what the locator spell is for." Parker had decided that thinking about this too much made her brain hurt. "Getting back is more important, since we'll be coming back to a very slightly different future. Hopefully."

"I am," she nodded. "The egg child is with his daddy for the night so I'm free." Rolling her eyes, Isabel looked down at her outfit. "I tried for the good girl look."

"Okayyyyy." Parker just had to ask, "Seriously?"

"You could accidentally get a friend of the butterfly that controls the weather," Willow said. "It'd be awful! There'd be rain all summer because it'd be in mourning."
