The Park, Saturday afternoon

A smallish, odd-looking shape appeared over Fandom, appeared to be heading for the Preserve, until a last minute course correction had the ship landing in a more-or-less open part of the park. Dramatic moment of silence as ducks boggled, and then the hatch hissed open and a uniformed figure stepped out, curly hair falling around her shoulders and a smile on her face.

"Ah, Fandom, sweet Fandom . . ."

Blair had woken up very early and changed into his 'traveling in space' clothes. Which were pretty much his regular clothes.

"..my bags are packed and I'm ready to go. I'm standing here outside your do- STEEEEELLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Said packed bags were dropped as Blair ran to tacklehug Ivanova.

"You're here! It was so hard to sleep last night, man. Did you have a good flight? See any cool space things? Are you excited? I'm like completely excited, man! Seriously excited. I brought Hank! I figured he could use a vacation from the fish and I know he'd love to see you. You look great by the way, I'm glad you're not working yourself too hard. Or maybe you are and you still look beautiful. Are you working too hard? Do I need to have a talk with someone?" Blair bounced and talked while hugging Ivanova tightly.

"I'm sure you did, but I can't remember what it was." Blair grinned. "You look happy, Ivanova. I'm glad to see that."

"I am pretty cool." Blair teased.

River had woken up early too, and made sure she was properly dressed too. She wasn't too bothered about the 'traveling in space', as she'd done plenty of that before, but she wanted to look nice, and most importantly she wanted Blair to notice her in a different way. Hence she was wearing a very bright red dress and yellow stockings. Buffy had been her adviser when buying both items, but she might not have imagined them together.

Actually, what had taken up most of her time this morning was an attempt to create an interesting hairstyle. It had taken a lot of experimenting and resulted in - nothing. Apart from her hair looking messier than usual.

All this was now forgotten however: Ivanova was here, it was good to see her again, and they would soon be on their way.

"Did you remember everything?" Blair asked, bouncing. He wasn't quite sure what to make of River's outfit but not sure if he should say anything about it. Maybe non-matchy clothes was a space thing? "Do you need me to carry something?"

[identity profile] moonbrain-tam.livejournal.com 2006-12-23 04:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Non-matchy? He thought her clothes were non-matchy? That was a bit of a disappointement and it might have shown on River's face. She tried smiling, however. "Have everything. You can carry this." She handed him the red handbag that Buffy had suggested. It had proven quite useless, as the shape and size wasn't fitting for anything she would carry around, but perhaps that was the definition of it being an accessory.

Blair might not have been a mind-reader but he could read River's expressions pretty well and he winced as he took the red handbag. Insulting a girls clothes, even if he just thought it, was not a good idea.

Holding out his arm so River could take it, he smiled. "You look very pretty today. I like your hair."

River took his arm, beaming. "Thank you. You lokk pretty too." She kissed him on the cheek.

River did her best to stay out of Ivanova's head. She giggled at Blair blushing, and released him to give Susan a hug. "Thank you for the invitation."

Maia came rushing up and out of breath. "Sorry." She said hugging Susan close. "Got caught on the phone with my step dad." She rolled her eyes, "Diana insists on us getting along." Maia stopped short and tilted her head, her gaze focusing on River.

Maia looked closer at her and nodded. "I-...well you know around here it's crazy. River was my roommate when I first came here but...well I don't think I know 'this' River." She shook her head and laughed. "You know Fandom." She grinned happily, this was going to be great. She hoped Susan would be able to sneak away from work for a little bit while they were there.

"It's very nice to meet you." Maia said nodding at River..."Again...or not..." She smiled again "You know I never understand the time and back again here."

Maia turned back to Susan practically floating at her touch, her eyes drank her in wanting to do more then a friendly kiss hello on the forehead but she was happy just having Susan next to her.

Maia nodded, "I've enlisted G'Kar to help me. I do hope he got the letter about it." She smiled thinking of the look on his face when she told him she was babysitting. "I thought maybe we could sit in on a meeting or something when G'Kar is giving a speech. Give him some moral support you know."

Maia trailed off for a moment at the feeling of Susan's fingers in her hair. Later didn't feel like it was going to get there soon enough.

Maia looked mischeivious and nodded. "So he's told me several times over. Don't worry, I've got a soft spot for Russians with brown hair." She winked.
