The Devil's Nest - Thursday Evening 1/11

Neil was quite prompt, no, he totally hadn't arrived early and spent half an hour sitting outside reading his mixology book...really.

He was quite eager and all smiles which no doubt gave Mazikeen the overwhelming desire to stab him with the little umbrellas but she was behaving herself and showed him the ropes. However, she was not about to let him touch the umbrellas!

Neil listened attentively to everything Mazikeen said and he might have even been taking some notes about how everything was supposed to run and when the doors finally opened, the youngster was busy wiping down the bar...

For the 10th time.

The Devil's Nest was open!

Neil is behind the bar, all smiles and eagerness. Mazikeen might be ready to kill him but she's there also to make sure the integrity of the Nest isn't compromised by the annoying little ~~wee!Wilson~~ student.

Yondaime walked into the Nest and looked a little startled at the student there, but that did seem to be common around here. Oh well, as long as they did drink?

He sat down with his normal smile. "Can I get a Blue Dragon? (http://www.drinknation.com/ingbrowse/Sak%25E9)? If you don't know it, cold sake would be fine."

Neil ~~bounced~~ came over with a bright smile on his face.

"Good evening, Sir." He chirpped, much to the eyerolling disgust of Mazikeen behind him.

"Blue Dragon...that's with sake, gin and curacao...blue right?" He actually had a lot of drink ingredients memorized from the book, it was just some of the finer nuances of mixing them special -such as Lucifer asking for a 'dirty' martini- that threw him off.

The ninja chuckled and nodded. "Yes, that's correct."

"Coming right up!" Neil announced with that bright smile of his.

Turning to the back of the bar, he searched around till he found all the necessary items. Then he flipped open his mixology book, just to confirm that he had the amounts right.

Very carefully, he measured out each ounce, carefully mixing it as instructed and then pouring it into the glass indicated in the book.

Pleased with his efforts, which at least looked like the picture in the book, Neil came back and set the glass on a small napkin in front of Yondaime.

"Here you are, Sir." Neil grinned. "I'm afraid they're not letting me handle the little umbrellas yet. It's my first night."

"That's okay." He smiled and took a small sip, his face brightening. "It's really good! Well done!" Yondaime smiled brightly. "At this rate I'm sure they'll be letting you handle the umbrellas soon."

Pleased that the man seemed to genuinely enjoy the drink, Neil beamed from ear to ear.

"Thank you, Sir! I hope you're right. It looks a little naked without an umbrella."

"Well sometimes simplicity is the best. If you add too much to something, sometimes it doesn't turn out as well. Right?" He noted, and sipped more. "When I'm done with this can I get some cold sake?"

That made Neil feel better about the whole umbrella thing and he rocked from his heels to his toes.

"Very good point!" He agreed and then nodded. "Of course, cold sake when you're ready for it, Sir. Will you want that here at the bar or will you be playing some pool tonight?"

"Pool? Uhmm, I don't think swimming and drinking are good combinations." And no, he'd never heard of the game before if that wasn't obvious.

Every chair in the lounge had been carefully set under the tables and the pool tables had been carefully brushed to within an inch of their lives.

It's possible that the owner could be lurking here, if it suits him.

And...only if it suits him.

It did suit him to be in the club this evening. He couldn't miss his newest employee's first night, now could he?

Lucifer sat at his usual table, keeping a close eye on the bar.

When Neil had finished wiping down the bar till you could practically see your reflection in it, he slipped out from behind the counter and headed over to the lounge with an eager smile on his face.

"Good evening, Sir!" Neil stopped short of Lucifer, hands folded neatly into the small of his back as he gave the Prince of Hell a polite nod of his head. "Can I get you something from the bar tonight?"

Lucifer smirked at the enthusiasm. It was like watching a puppy.

"Vodka martini, dirty."

The puppy might have missed a beat as Neil wasn't sure if he'd read that part of the mixology book yet but he quickly covered his uncertainty with a smile.

"Of course, coming right up, Sir."

With another nod of his head, he turned and headed to the bar. Neil started to flip through the mixology book, then carefully measured out the required elements of the martini. He made a passable job of it but at the end was forced to ask Mazikeen for help on the 'dirty' part.

The demon muttered under her breath about enthuasitic students who didn't seem to have much reason to be enthuastic as she helped him out and handed him the drink.

Thanking her, with a slightly worried look -as he couldn't figure her out to save himself- Neil headed back to the lounge with the drink.

"Here you go, Sir. I had to ask Mazikeen for help but I promise, I've been reading up every night in between my homework. I'll do better next shift."

It was always entertaining to see Mazikeen have to deal with humans. The only thing better than that was watching her and Aziraphale together.

Lucifer tasted the drink, nodding slightly. It was palatable. "Very well."

Neil beamed at the praise, even if it did sound a bit like 'and you'll do better next time'.

"Thank you, Sir. Please, let me know if there is anything more I can get you."

Giving Lucifer another nod of his head, Neil headed back to polish the bar...for the 15th time.

A nice bluesey jazz was playing tonight, good for slow dancing and for some quicker spin steps if that was your thing.

Is it wrong that I have access to more nekkid icons of Neil than I do of Wilson?

....

The world needs more nekkid icons, damn it!

Unfortunately we aren't getting it from RSL. Phale!Mun and I have decided the man puts a clause in his work contracts that any scene he does involves at least 8 articles of clothing.

But at least DC makes up for it! There are plenty of pretty nekkid piccies of him floating around.
