Sparky Repairs, Saturday

The twins opened Sparky's with kitties on their brains. Besides writing their two page papers for Advanced Tactics, Hikaru and Kaoru went about making mechanical kitty toys, little mice-shaped things on wheels and string for tails.

Haruhi was nearly sure the twins had their shift at work today-- she never stopped by to know truly, but decided to hope for the best anyway. After sandwich-making in the common room with Pippi, Haruhi stopped by with two extras in hand. //"Hey, are you two there?"// she called when she entered.

Haruhi looked around the shop as she made her way towards the counter they were at. //"I've got something for you."//

//"Ooo, really?"// Both leaned over on the counter, as if trying to get a glance of what it was.

//"Here,"// Haruhi set down two sandwiches wrapped in aluminum foil. //"You better like salami and cheese, because I'm not remaking them."//

//"Awww, you made these just for us?"// Hikaru grinned, examining the aluminum a little before unwrapping the sandwich.

//"What strange thoughts? It would have been a nice gesture!"// Kaoru sticks out his tongue an unwraps his own.

Haruhi quirked an eyebrow. //"I'm sure it would have,"// she said flatly. //"Either way, you won't be starving anymore."//

//"Thanks."// They reply, equally as dull. Both scrutinize the sandwiches before taking trying them.

//"They're not poisoned, you don't need to hesitate"// Haruhi assured, though not in all seriousness.

They take a bite of their sandwiches and make faces as they chew, swallowing before saying, //"It's good."//

//"Good,"// Haruhi said. //"It looks like you've been up to something here."//

//"We just got our friend a kitten for Christmas, so we decided to make toys for it."// Hikaru took another bite, grabbing one of the weird mousey-shaped things and places it in front of her.

They frowned. //"Giving presents away for no reason is wasteful. We wanted a reason to give her the kitty."//

They shrug. //"Whatever. Point is, we wanted to give it to her."//

//"Her name is Matilda."// Kaoru answered, smiling a little.

//"Matilda..."// Haruhi leaned against the counter, trying to figure if the name sounded familiar. //"No, I don't think I've met her yet."// She looked up at Kaoru. //"She's a good friend?"//

Kaoru couldn't help but tint ever so slightly.

//"Yeah, Matilda's really neat."// Hikaru tilted his head to the side and grinned. //"She can move stuff with her mind."//

//"You mean like telekineses?"// Haruhi switched her eyes towards Hikaru, giving him a barely noticeable skeptical look. Even then, she smiled lightly. //"I'll have to meet her then."//

Sometime in the evening

Hard.

Again.

Swearing like a sailor who just lost all his money to a two dollar floozy with one leg, Mel grumles and just walks out the door.
