The Perk, Tuesday morning

Angela woke up early on Tuesday and decided to take a walk into town, simply because she hadn't done that enough lately. Plus, she needed a peppermint mocha before she could even think about doing anything else.

At the perk, she settled into a seat near the window with her mocha and a banana-nut muffin and started working on her reading and some project ideas for Aziraphale's class. She tugged on her hair as she worked, slightly distracted.

After his conversation with Cameron that morning, Bel went into town, idly keeping an eye out for some sort of distraction he could arrange. As he passed the Perk, he glanced in the window and saw Angela inside.

Oh, now this could be fun.

He glanced around to make sure no one was around, then shifted his shape into Marty's form and walked into the Perk. "Hi, Angela," he said, smiling at her.

"Hey," Angela said, a light in her eyes. "Are you getting breakfast too?"

"Actually," he said, "I came looking for you. There's something I want to show you."

Angela gathered together her empty cup and muffin wrapper, giving Marty a sidelong look. "Can't wait until dinner, huh?" she teased. "You really didn't have to get me anything."

After all, she hadn't gotten him anything.

"Do I need a reason for wanting to surprise my favorite girl a little early?" Bel said, holding out his hand to her.

Angela took his hand and stood, squeezing it a little. "I guess not," she said, with pretend reluctance.

Happy, she stretched to kiss his cheek. "So where's the mystery thing?"

"Follow me," Bel said, tugging her toward the door. "You'll see."

A grand gesture? That was a little weird, but she wasn't going to complain. "All right!," she said giggling as she obediently followed him. "Is it, um ... a pony?"

"Not exactly," Bel said, glancing up and down the street to see who was around. Of course, if anybody saw him, they'd just assume he was Marty. Still, he wanted to get out of sight and somewhere private quickly.

"A baby giraffe?" Angela guessed randomly. She looked at him looking up and down the street. "You're twitchy today."

"I'm just a little anxious," Bel said. He stepped into the alleyway behind the Perk, trying to draw Angela with him.

Angela followed closely. "Is it that spy tech teacher again? Seriously, drop the class, Marty."

"Not exactly," Bel said again, then yanked Angela against him, clamping a hand over her mouth so she couldn't scream. He had a nice quiet destination in mind as he summoned his power to blaze them out of the alleyway.

Dr. Venture was humming happily to himself when he sat down with his coffee.

It's best not to think of what would set him in a happy mood.
