After opening the shop, Teddy had Emo stand guard at the register as he slipped out real quick to go to the clinic and see Cally. The radio had just said she was there, nothing about the why.

Emo was standing proudly on the counter, hoping that customers might show up so he could help them. Goth, on the other hand, was sulking in the back room over not being picked by Teddy to take care of the shop.

Sparky's is open for business!

The store hadn't burned down, which was a pleasant surprise, but it seemed Goth was attempting a coup de tat. Teddy sighed and separated the dingbots, taking his normal place at the counter. After his trip to the clinic (http://community.livejournal.com/fandom_clinic/265645.html), he wasn't in a mood to deal with customers so he curled up the little hollow under the counter to emo study for his Tactics class.

Well, isn't it just too bad for Teddy.

"...what, the door is open but there's no service? Hello?"

Teddy let his head thump against the counter. Not this asshole again. He stood up, sighing. "How can I help you?"

"Do you have a set of brass balls?" Dr. Venture asked, plainly.

There was no reaction to that possible that didn't involve either giggling or staring blankly. Teddy, luckily for him, went with the later of the two.

"Excuse me?"

"Brass balls," Dr. Venture said. "I lost my pair. I need new ones."

"Um, okay," Teddy said. "What size are your brass balls."

And that right there was something he never ever thought he would need to say to a customer.

"Normal size," Dr. Venture said. "What, you think they come in variety packs? Standard issue balls, please, thank you very much. And please be careful when handling my new balls, as I don't want them scratched. They can be quite sensitive."

Teddy managed to keep a straight face and he was very proud of himself for that. "Let me check in back if we have any in stock."

He slipped into the back room, unable to keep from laughing any longer.

Dr. Venture reached into a pocket to pull out his wallet. He heard the muffled sounds and wondered what exactly was so funny.

It took Teddy a few minutes to get himself under control to go looking for the, *snerk*, brass balls.

When he found some, he had to wonder why exactly they had them in the store before shaking his head and deciding that it was best left a mystery.

He packed them up in a box and brought them out to the counter. "That'll be handwavey amount, please."

"Thank you," Dr. Venture said, paying Teddy. "I knew I'd be able to get all the balls I needed here, and you didn't disappoint."

Teddy had to bite his lip to keep from laughing again. "Glad to be of assisstance sir. Have a nice day."
