Outside Café Fina, Tuesday Afternoon
It was a nice enough day on the street outside of the café. Sure, it was a little cloudy, but there was something of a fire to keep the doorway well lit. Granted, it was a little windy, but that very same fire kept the very same man safe from ever worrying about being just a little on the chilled side.
However, that particular man was probably going to remain just outside the door for a while, given that he was waiting for someone who actually hand hands to come around and unlock it for him.
"Come on, you silly spoons. I can understand being late while at ze castle, but it isn't half as hectic here. I look like a loon, standing on ze sidewalk!"
Lumiere might have looked just a tad flustered.
[OOC: Establishy post-- Lumiere is open for interaction, but the café isn't quite open yet. There are slight renovations to be done to account for the maître d's lack of hands. Café Fina will be open in time for AU weekend! Today, slowplay will be the name of the game after 6:30 mst, as I'll be heading off to work.]

"Um... Hellooooo." He said with an uncertain slowness.

"'Allo," he replied with his usual pep and vigor and a bit of a bow. "I don't suppose I might borrow your hands for a moment? Ze door has me somewhat defeated."

. . . she drove a magical school bus and had her coffee made by a lizard. Candles? Not so strange.

"Ze key is on the ground, down there--" he pointed to it with one candlestick hand. "And I don't seem to be able to pick it up."
He wasn't really volunteering the reason why he couldn't pick it up. It's not as though it wasn't blatantly obvious, anyhow.
"If you would be so kind as to get it and unlock ze door for me, I would be most grateful."

Rather, the flames on his candlestick hands sparked and danced a little, and he was grinning quite broadly.
"Oh, thank you! Thank you! I 'ave been standing outside this door all afternoon. I am Lumiere- ze new maître d' here at ze café. And whose company do I 'ave ze pleasure of standing in?"
He might have been smiling specifically at Miss Frizzle.

"Doctor Byron Orpheus, at your service."

The flame at the end of one 'hand' piffled out for a moment and he leaned over, guiding her hand to his lips.
"If zere is anything that I can do for you or Byron, Valerie, do, please, let me know."
And he smiled his most winning smile up at her, still bowed over.

"I haven't even had ze opportunity yet to take stock of what is left in ze kitchen," he admitted. "And I've no idea where my staff has gotten off to-- but next time you stop by, I'll give you both a free meal to make up for this inconvenience. 'Ow does zat sound?"
Winning smile. Winning smile. Wink at the lovely lady.

Or maybe that would be an improvement?
"What a generous offer." Byron smiled back. "Thank you."

Sometimes perhaps a little too much.
"I'm looking forward to seeing ze both of you around, then. I'm not certain when renovations will be finished, but I will make certain that I will be open by ze weekend, no matter what!"

"You are most welcome, Valerie," he said with another wink and a nod. "I'm looking forward to seeing you around when the doors are open and there's food to be had."

She paused to stare at the new guy. "Nice hair," she commented.

The master might like this one!"Thank you," Lumiere replied with a smile and a sincere bow, which might have helped to further illustrate exactly how odd his 18-century powdered-wig look really was.

There weren't many ways to cover that one up. Really.
So he shoved them behind his back.
"Yes, I do believe they are. Should I put them out?"

Lumiere smiled and held up a hand, dimming the flame down so as to not take anyone's eyebrows while lighting the lovely young lady's cigarette.
"Well, 'allo, Becky. I am Lumiere."
Winning grin.

"Oui, oui, I probably do. But when you're running a business, standing out is a blessing, is it not?"
