The Fourth Sin, Friday Night [OPEN]

It was Jarod's turn to clean out the refrigerator at the Sin. He sighed, pulled down the hood of his HazMat suit, and prepared to do battle.

He wasn't sure if everything in there started out as food, but it certainly wasn't food now. Hopefully it wouldn't try to take over and plan a revolt while he went to get some cleanser.

After leaving Buffy's party, Jaye heads in. And she's bearing presents here, too.

Jarod trudged out of the kitchen, arm outstretched in front of him and clutching a doubled trash bag that he really hoped wasn't moving under its own power or making noises, his hood still on. He waved his free hand hello at Jaye.

"I so don't know what you're cleaning in here," she decides.

"The fridge," he said, heading towards the door and the dumpster, though it might have been muffled by the hood. "I think it was establishing a system of government."

"Egads, it had already mastered speech?" she asks. Of course, if she didn't hear him correctly, she probably looked dumb. Oh well.

"Possibly psychic communication," Jarod called back over his shoulder as he left the building. He returned a few minutes later with his hood off. "Hey. This is a nice surprise."

"I'm capable of it every once in a while," she says, smiling. "You look much better this way, by the way."

"I'm glad you think so," Jarod said, almost leaning in for a kiss, then he remembered the hazmat suit and the hazardous waste he'd just tossed in the dumpster. "I have to disinfect myself before I get near you," he decided.

"That's the sweetest thing anyone's ever told me," she laughs. "Well, you can't get what I brought you until then, because you might contaminate it."

"You brought me something?" He asked with interest.

"It's little," she says. "But yes."

"You didn't have to do that," he said, absurdly touched, then added, "I'm going to go wash my hands, and put the suit away," he practically bounced his way to the kitchen. "It's where I left the antibacterial soap."

"I'll be here," she promises. Seriously, not every day you have a conversation with someone in a Hazmat suit.

Jarod returned about five minutes later, more reasonably attired in a pair of jeans, henley shirt, and overshirt. "I think I'm safe now," he reported, then bent down to kiss Jaye. "Hi. I'm glad you stopped by."

"So am I," she smiles, and takes his hand to place the Pixie Stix it.

Jarod beamed at Jaye. "You brought me candy? Thank you!"

"I figured you should actually get to experience the wonder that is colored pure sugar," she says.

Jarod spread the stix out on the desk and considered them. "Do you have a flavor preference?"

"Red tends to be the best," she says wisely. "Orange is a good second."

"Red it is, then," he said, taking one and handing another to Jaye. "Now what?"

"Open up the top," she says, demonstrating. "And down it." Also, demonstrating by tilting her head back and downing the contents.

Jarod followed the instructions, downing his own tube o' sugar. As the cherry-esque sugar poured down his throat, he lifted his head and smiled at Jaye, licking his lips. "I approve."

"Oh, just wait until the sugar kicks in," she tells him. "Sugar rushes are fun."

"Oh, I know," Jarod had eaten a lot of sugar his first few weeks out of the Centre. "I can't understand why people would drink if they can have sugar instead."

"I think it's two different kinds of ingestive fun," Jaye says thoughtfully. "Which is why you should never try mixng the two."
