Outside the TARDIS, Wednesday afternoon

Sitting on the grass, The Doctor was playing checkers with a stuffed bright pink rhinoceros.

...and losing.

[ooc: Open!]

Her business regarding the Squishy Machine concluded.

Jane decided to head back to the TARDIS.

And then saw The Doctor.

Playing checkers.

With a stuffed bright pink rhinoceros.

...and losing.

"Maybe you should try chess," Rosette suggested, stopping a bit to watch the rather fascinating game for a moment on a stroll and an attempt to escape studying for a bit.

Jane is pretty sure he actually has.

"Doc? The fuck are you doing?"

"Of course he prefers checkers, 'cause he's clearly better." Her head tilted a little more. "Checkers is like tic-tac-toe, though. Very little strategy except hoping you get to go first and that the opponent will make a stupid mistake."

"Just when you think you're used to this fucking place..." She muttered nodding back at Mr. Locke.

"Why is his name 'Mr. Locke'?"

"Hello, Doctor." Rosette smiled and went to go join them on the grass, folding her legs in front of her and getting a better look at the board.

"Quite clearly," she said after a moment, "he's just building up for a dramatic victory." She eyed the little pink rhinoceros. That definately had to be it. Anyone with coloured so brightly had to be a bit of a whore for dramatics.

"Right."

Jane didn't bother to ask who, or what, Viki was.

"Maybe you should switch to dice..."

Rosette sighed a little. "Bored," she said, and then eyed the board, seeing a good move that the Doctor could make, but not saying anything out of curiosity to see if he'd notice it to. "So I decided to take a walk, see if much interesting is going on around this place." She set her elbows on her knees, leaning forward with her face cradled in her hands. "This is the most interesting thing I've found so far."

Jane folded her arms and watched, she had a good idea what was about to happen.

Rosette gave a little nod of approval. "Yeah, I'd say its a little chilly to have been out here all day playing games, but I suppose then you'd also have an excuse for getting your butt kicked. I don't think Mr. Rhino there's as affected by weather, being all fluff and stuff. Or, at least, I think..." She eyed the rhino, tempted to poke it to prove her theory, but she didn't want to mess with a rhino of any size if she could help it. "He looks like he is, anyway."

Not laughing.

Snorting? Yes.

But not laughing.

Jane covers her mouth.

"Sorry."

*snerk*

Rosette was eying Mr. Locke again. Now that she'd gotten the thought in her head, it wouldn't leave her.

So she poked him. Right in his pink stuffed rhino tummy.
