The Devil's Nest - Thursday [2/8]

Bundled up against the cold weather Neil came tumbling through the door with a bright smile on his face and a warm greeting for Mazikeen.

Hey, if he kept working at it, he might get to those umbrellas yet!

Shedding a few layers, he checked out the club and then headed behind the bar. He figured that people coming in tonight might want warm mixed drinks so he went ahead and started a pot of coffee to have for a mixer and then settled into his cleaning routine.

[ooc: I will be offline till around 9ish est so mod Mazikeen if you need her!]

Tori had told Neil that should would visit him at work one day, and here she was.

Noticing that he was currently engrossed in reading, she gently flicked a bar peanut at him. *looks innocent* You suggested it!

"Hi Neil." Tori smiled brightly at him, chuckling at the peanut's new occupation.

"I'm doing well, you?" She remarked cheerfully.

"That's good to hear." Tori grinned. "I could go for a Sprite, if you have it, thanks."

Rosette had finally convinced Chrono to accompany her out tonight so that she could practice her pool game and, as she figured, boost her ego because there was no way, in her mind, tha the could possibly beat her. However, once Chrono seemed to get over that strange sort of nervousness he had presiding over him for a good long while, he was displaying a hidden sort of talent for the game. At least his success was loosening him up a bit; it worried Rosette when Chrono was so fidgity and stressed.

A nervous demon? Why ever would that be?

At some point during one of the games, Lucifer quite suddenly was there, leaning against a table to watch the pair play.

The nun sunk one of her stripes and then leaned a little on the pool cue as she smirked at the devil. "Long time, no see," she commented, then cocked her head toward the nearly finished game. "You want in on the next one? You an' Chrono could be partners."

Which totally made Chrono scratch his shot.

Rosette bit her lip against a chuckle. "He clearly needs the help."

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
That earned a knowing smirk from Lucifer. "I wouldn't want to intrude."

Re: The Lounge - [2/8]

[identity profile] nun-better.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes, Rosette, I thought you said we wou--"

"Psh." With a shrug of her shoulder and a wave of her hand, Rosette completely overrode any sort of argreement with Lucifer that Chrono might have. "Not intruding at all. C'mon! Grab a stick and let's hit some balls around."

Re: The Lounge - [2/8]

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
"If you say so," Lucifer replied, pushing himself away from the table. He brushed past Chrono to grab a cue for himself.

Re: The Lounge - [2/8]

[identity profile] nun-better.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
Chrono's eyes almost impulsivly narrowed as Lucifer brushed by, although he wasn't sure which blonde the feeling of edgy annoyance was for.

Rosette, meanwhile, was bending over the table, one eye closed as she lined up a shot, thinking much like the cue ball was a demon's head and she was popping a nice, sharp Gospel in his brain pan. She pulled back, made the shot and sunk the eight ball. "Whoo!" Her arms went up in victory and she grinned at Chrono. "Told you I'd win this one."

Her smirk turned toward Lucifer. "You wanna set up the next one, or should we let you break?"

Re: The Lounge - [2/8]

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
After brief look toward Chrono he spoke, "You may break."

Lucifer leaned down to empty the nearest pocket on the table. He didn't need to do it this way, but it was much more fun to tease the demon like this.

Chrono closed his eyes as he drew in a quiet breath. All that time he'd spent trying to reestablish some sort of resistence after the whole...herpes/allergic reaction fiasco, crumbling away in mere moments. If he wasn't so absolutely convinced that Rosette was entirely oblivious, he'd almost think she'd dragged him here intentionally to torture him as payback...

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
Once the table was set Lucifer took a step back and waited for Rosette to take her shot. He may have moved to stand next to Chrono on purpose or by sheer coincidence.

"Sister..."

Re: The Lounge - [2/8]

[identity profile] nun-better.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
Chrono's fingers twitched a little, in an effort to relieve some of the massive tension he was feeling right now. He tried to focus on Rosette; she certainly wasn't exactly...discrete or conscious of the slits in her habit when she shot, but, at the same time, it wasn't easy to focus on the paleness of a mortal girl's thighs when the Lord of Darkness was standing right next to you.

Rosette's pool game was improving a lot from this little practice session and she made a pretty good break, almost sinking a stripe, but not quite. She took a moment to pout at the ball before turning a grin toward her opponants. "So, which one of you hellions is going first?"

Re: The Lounge - [2/8]

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
Lucifer took a small step back, turning to look at Chrono. "After you."

Re: The Lounge - [2/8]

[identity profile] nun-better.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
Chrono nodded as he hefted up his pool cue and approached the table. He inspected it closely before setting up his shot, quick mantra of don't screw up, don't screw up, don't. screw. up. repeating in his head.

Which, of course, meant he screwed up. It wasn't easy for him to shoot in general because he was so short in this form, but shaking hands didn't make for a smooth shot, and the cue ball dropped especially heavily into a pocket.

Rosette snorted. "Nice one, Chrono."

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
"Have you played before?" Lucifer asked, not sounding mocking, only curious.

Re: The Lounge - [2/8]

[identity profile] nun-better.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
"Uh, not really," Chrono responded, blinking a little at the table as Rosette lined up her shot for the recovery of the scratch. For some reason, this reaction from Lucifer relaxed him a little. "This would be my first time, and, I mean, Rosette just gave me a crash course and she just learned the game recently herself..."

"Hey, I'mma good teacher," Rosette insisted, closing an eye as she shot and got her missed stripe in. "Woo! I'm stripes!" She moved around the table for her next turn.

Re: The Lounge - [2/8]

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
Lucifer hummed thoughtfully at that as he watched Rosette take her next shot. "The next shot is yours again," He told Chrono.

Re: The Lounge - [2/8]

[identity profile] nun-better.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
A muttered curse escaped Rosette as she missed her next shot and then looked to the boys expectantly.

"Y..you sure?" Chrono asked a little worriedly, and then reasoned that Lucifer wouldn't have told him to take the next shot if he really felt he should go. So he nodded, inspected the table for a second, and then started to position himself behind the cue ball.

Re: The Lounge - [2/8]

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
Lucifer quietly moved to stand behind the demon, bending over to mirror his position. One hand slid down Chrono's arm to help guide him as he tucked his chin over the demon's shoulder to get a better view.

"Steady."

Re: The Lounge - [2/8]

[identity profile] nun-better.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, hell... Chrono gulped, and tried to steady his focus on game, but he found that all he could think of Lucifer grabbing his wrist, forcing him down against the velvety surface of the pool table, hand gripping his hair...

"L..like this?" he asked, shifting against him slightly as he repositioned himself.

Rosette blinked, and shook her head. And blamed all the scotch she had earlier with Shuichi for the creeping little feeling of 'what the hell?' passing over her.

Re: The Lounge - [2/8]

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Perfect."

Lucifer, of course, looked completely calm about the situation. As if practically draping himself over Chrono was a completely normal and mundane activity.

He moved Chrono's hand slightly before speaking again. "Now, take the shot."

Re: The Lounge - [2/8]

[identity profile] nun-better.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
With a slight nod, Chrono did as instructed, letting out a deep breath that he hoped would pass for concentration on the shot. It surprised him how smoothly it went, how it all seemed to happen in some sort of slow motion, lining up perfectly to sink one of their balls.

Rosette shook her head again to expell invasive thoughts that she blamed entirely on Yuki and Deadpool. "Get outta my head," she muttered. "There isn't even any cake here."

Re: The Lounge - [2/8]

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
After watching the ball go in, Lucifer leaned forward briefly against Chrono as he pushed himself away from the table.

"Try it again now."

He spared a quick glance toward Rosette and her muttering before turning back to watch the demon play.

Re: The Lounge - [2/8]

[identity profile] nun-better.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
It was always hard difficult whenever Lucifer moved away; when he was close, there was just such a strong, overwhelming presence. Once it was gone, things around Chrono always felt emptier than they had been, colder. His breath was shaky as he drew it in and forced himself to concentrate on the next shot.

It wasn't a bad shot, but it wasn't a good one, either, and the play deferred to Rosette.

"S'bout time," she muttered, leaning over for her turn. "Thought you two were gonna start...makin' out or something, geez."

Chrono let out a small breath of a laugh. "No, Rosette," he said, swiftly moving in to cover; she really made it too easy for him to keep this all covered, "wouldn't want to steal your repitiore."

Rosette wasn't even sure she knew what that word meant but she was pretty sure Chrono was making a jab at her. She stuck her tongue out at him and missed her shot.

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
There was the smallest hint of a grin as Lucifer lined up his shot. "Why exactly would you think that, Sister Rosette?"

Re: The Lounge - [2/8]

[identity profile] nun-better.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, please," Rosette rolled her eyes a little. "How could I not?"

And, since Rosette figured the only way she could explain this was through action, she leaned her pool cue against the neighbouring table and moved over to Lucifer. "Chrono was all, 'oh, I just learned how do this!' and then you were all 'here, let me help.'" Chrono, by the way, got a high, helpless falsetto voice while Rosette deepened her voice significantly to imitate Lucifer. "And then you draped yourself all over him," which is what Rosette did to Lucifer at that moment, putting on a serious expression as she leaned in as best she could toward Lucifer's ear and summoned up her best sultry voice, " 'Steady, now...'"

Chuckling, Lucifer looked up toward Rosette as he hit one of his balls in. He turned toward the bar and shared a smirk with Mazikeen there before setting up another shot. "Quite imaginative for a nun." He hit another ball in. "Why Sister Rosette, did you want me to help you as well?"

Re: The Lounge - [2/8]

[identity profile] nun-better.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 06:33 am (UTC)(link)
Rosette scowled slightly at the succession of pocketed balls; who the hell thought to invite him to play?

...Oh, right. Her.

"Nah, I think I got it. Wouldn't want to cross any lines of varying good angel, bad angel instruction techniques, and, besides, I've seen your style, and, thank you, but I already have enough trouble with smooth, gropy blondes."

Re: The Lounge - [2/8]

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
Lucifer raised an eyebrow at that and purposely missed his next ball. Wasn't any fun when the game ended too early.

"I'll keep that in mind."

Re: The Lounge - [2/8]

[identity profile] nun-better.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 06:41 am (UTC)(link)
Chrono was feeling like he really didn't need to know about Rosette and gropy blonde. Hey. He kept his sex life to himself, couldn't she be considerate and do the same? Then again, he had reasons other than squimishness for keeping his secret... And now he was trying really hard not to look over at Lucifer too much while Rosette painstakingly tried to set up a good shot.

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 06:46 am (UTC)(link)
She would find the table seemed set against her, not allowing for any easy shots.

Like Lucifer would really have just wasted a shot like that.
