Mauvaise Chance Office/Lobby, Friday Morning [2/9]

Still with the floorplans for the sub-basement, but now Xander was behind the counter transferring them from his laptop to the apartment system. He was tempted to type in the info from the new tenant's application, but the thought of kicked-puppy-eyes from Willow held him back. He needed something to distract him from being too thoughtful about recent discussions, though; trying to make his iBook and Harper's light-years-more-advanced system talk to each other was serving for the moment, but that wouldn't last forever.

The Guy With Tools signs, now with 97% more glitter, were still posted outside the building doors, and in the lobby.

[OOC: Open for new and current tenants, plus anybody else who might care to wander in. While the morning looks open, work is work, so sudden SP may be unavoidable.]

Bridge hesitates for a moment after entering the lobby, then heads for his usual spot behind the counter.

"Hey," he greets Xander, not at all awkwardly.

"So remember that thing you said?" Bridge says. "About not liking finding out about stuff- potentially dangerous stuff- after it's actually happened?"

"Okay, because, um, tomorrow? I'm going with River and a bunch of other people to a planet called Miranda and there is a very strong possibility of bad guys and us having to fight them. Also, apparently, corpses."

Hannelore had not slept, no. (Hotels were disgusting, and she had a blacklight.) Winslow was fully charged, though, and she had brought him along, figuring it was only fair - especially as most apartment landlords viewed AnthroPCs as pets these days.

"Hello?" she said hesitantly as she walked in. Winslow looked equally tentative.

"Hi!" Bridge waves cheerfully.

[identity profile] scrabblecyborg.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
She nodded. "Do you have any vacancies?"

[identity profile] scrabblecyborg.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
She smiles a little warily. "Are you a tenant?"

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
"Actually, I work here. I'm the Assistant Assistant," Bridge explains.

Hannelore nods, not entirely getting it. She stops short. "Why are you wearing gloves?" she asks, suddenly a bit more worried about the general cleanliness of the lobby.

Ellen walked into the lobby when she saw there was activity and smiled when she saw Xander. "You're still here," she said, pleased.

Hannelore looked it over. "What about minus five?" she asked. Winslow peered as well, and enthusiastically said, "That one looks splendid!"

[identity profile] roadhousequeen.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
"You found a whole new floor?" She asked, giving Xander a look as though wondering whether to believe him. "Up or down?"

[identity profile] scrabblecyborg.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm an AnthroMac!" Winslow said cheerfully.

Hannelore nodded. "He's Apple's answer to the AnthroPC. Some of his parts are still in beta. This is Winslow. Um, I'm Hannlore."

[identity profile] scrabblecyborg.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hi," Hannelore said hesitantly to the computer. She set Winslow on the counter and he toddled over to say hello as well.

Hannelore looked at him like he might be crazy. Which is to say, sympathetically. "...no. Why?"
