You can't stop the signal once it's been sent, and that had been exactly what they had done.

The Acorn had descended through the atmosphere rather shakily, but it had proven itself sturdier than expected of a squirrel-built spaceship. It was probably a good thing that Sam had been the pilot rather than River, and especially the Park groundsmen would have been happy about that had they known that the spaceship landing not for from the clinic could have caused a lot more damage to the surroundings with someone less experienced piloting it.

River watched Parker and Sam help Jack to the clinic nearby, flinching at his pain. She had seen enough of wounds to expect that he would be ok, but she had been responsible for putting him in danger.

Still, leaning against the Acorn she felt content.

Parker waved to River as she helped Jack down the path, and sent back, We'll talk later as they reached the doorway. About a lot of things.

"Take care of yourself, guys," Sam called over her shoulder, trying not to grunt under Jack's weight, "and Blair? You'll take that thing you borrowed to the weapons locker?"

Jack tried not to lean his whole weight on Sam, but he wasn't very successful. "Yeah, what Sam said," he said, concentrating on trying to block out the pain.

He wasn't sure which was worse, having a bloody great hole in his shoulder or anticipating exactly what Sam and Parker, and then Cedric and Isabel in their turn, were going to do to him for getting hurt.

"Don't worry Sam, I'll take care of it." Blair nodded and waved at them. "Let us know what the doctor says about your shoulder, Jack."

"Parker?" Blair grinned. "I'll come find you if you need hugs!"

Parker sent him a grin and an eyeroll over her shoulder. "I'm sure you will!" she called back. "Even if I don't!" She waved. "Later, Blair. Take care of River!"
