Lumiere was well rested today, having had Walter - a fine boy, or so the dishes insisted - stand in for him yesterday.
This was a good thing, as a food shipment had come in earlier that day, and he was putting all of his mental prowess into trying to make sense of the ingredients that he had been sent. Even the master chefs in the kitchen hadn't the foggiest idea what to do with such things as chocobo eggs and gyshal greens, but Lumiere insisted that they keep at it until they figure it out.
While the kitchen staff puzzled over the exotic new ingredients, Lumiere supervised as the salt and pepper shakers hung up the "special curtain" so that Wasabi Boy and his unconventional romantic involvement could have some time alone to enjoy their ~~woe~~ free meal.

Today's Specials Board Reads:
Gedegg Soup, Choco Bread, Flan

You might want to be wary of the flan today. It took the entire kitchen staff to kill it ~~without the aid of totema or proper elemental attacks~~ and may or may not still be looking at you when you receive your order.

(OOC: As per the norm, I won't be available to play Lumiere until the evening, though I might pop by for a while before I head to work just to check for pings. If you don't mind waiting for a reply, I'll be happy to do the Lumiere interaction thing when I return from work. Fina is open!)

Rikku poked her head in the doorway. "Flan? Here? Are you guys all okay?!"

"We are!" The cheesegrater grinned broadly, waving a hello. "Though we have no idea how to prepare most of this stuff that we've got in..."
He paused and eyed Rikku for a moment. "You know about the dangerous sort of Flan, then?"

Rikku nodded, serious for once. "Oh, yeah. Snow ones, lightning ones, and the really, really big dark ones." She shuddered. "I hate those."

"Did you get it all settled? Do you need some help?"

"The flan is dead," the cheesegrater agreed with a nod. "But there's something else that you might be able to help us with... if your knowledge of the squishy critter is any indication." He grinned almost deviously. "Know anything about preparing gyshal greens or chocobo eggs?"

"Good job on the flan!" She grinned. "Gyshal greens ... I mean, usually you catch chocobos with them, although really, they're not bad. I kinda dipped into our stash when I got bored. But chocobo eggs - that's just mean! Chocobos are way too cool to eat!"

The cheesegrater blinked, then grinned sheepishly. "I don't think they're fertile or anything. We try not to cook eggs that have, you know, body parts in them. But you know how to prep things from... wherever? To eat?"

Wasabi Boy and his unconventional significant other have reservations. There's a curtain set up, and the pepper shaker will be quite happy to take your order.
Mostly because he likes seeing Lumiere sweat when they give away free food.

Wasabi Man *ahem* and his unconventional significant other had arrived, and Chad was finding himself pleased with how the arrangements turned out. He wondered if he was technically supposed to hold out Ted's chair for him or anything like that, but, not being sure and not wanting to look like a total dork in front of him, he didn't, and just sat down.

Teddy, who wasn't unconventional, took the seat across from him and looked at the curtains. "Are those normally there?"

Chad regarded the curtains for a moment before responding, "Nope. Wanted something a little more private..." It was a line that was impossible to say without sounding at least a little bit seductive, and he wasn't even trying.

It actually sounded a bit more cheesy than seductive, but Teddy didn't mind. He smiled and looked down at the table and the massive amount of silverware. "This is my first time here, so I wouldn't be sure."

"Yeah, me too. Pippi said it was pretty good, but she hadn't been here since the new management took over, so who knows?"

"So..." Teddy chewed on his lip. "Any more turning into people on accident since last night?"
