The Park [Sunday, Afternoon]

That kid halfway up a tree with a brightly coloured camera hanging from her neck? That would be Aiden.

She's taken on her role of a private-eye with gusto, and is happily snapping pictures of anything that moves... and several things that don't.

As a side project, she's also looking for giant bugs to put in stupid Jarod's bed.

[ooc: So open! As she's all weetiny, chances are the photos either won't come out, or she'll lose the camera before the end of the day... It always said Sunday... shh! ]

Jake was headed to the Perk, and decided to take the way through the park.

Jake paused at the noise and looked around suspiciously. He wasn't looking upwards though. Not yet. "Anybody there?"

And this time Jake did look up at the rustling. He blinked. "...Hi?"

Jake lowered his voice as well. "Um, no? Sorry? I'm just going for a coffee. What are you doing up there?"

"That's why you have the camera?" Jake asked. He tilted his head. "You're kind of little for a detective."

"Really?" Jake said doubtingly. The kid didn't look old enough to have a job. ...And now he was wondering who the kid was. "What's it called?"

[identity profile] courier-gavin.livejournal.com 2007-02-18 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh! That's the agency in town, isn't it?" Jake recognized the name even if he'd never been by. "I'm Jake," he added. "It's nice to meet you, Aiden."

"You're not gonna fall down, are you?" Jake asked, suddenly alarmed at the wobbling. He wouldn't know what to do with a hurt child. She might cry.

"Good." Jake relaxed. "I'm going to go get my coffee now. Do you want to come with me or stay and be a detective?"

[identity profile] courier-gavin.livejournal.com 2007-02-18 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Jake nodded. He'd seen that in movies as well. "Okay, you gotta come down then." He stepped away from the tree, watching her carefully. Jake's only experience with kids came from when he was one. This one didn't seem too bad though.

"Do you need help?" Jake asked, after watching her for a moment. "You could jump down, if you want?"

That didn't sound good. Jake knelt down beside her. "Are you okay? Will coffee make it better?" Jake staunchly believed that coffee cured everything.
