Devil's Nest, Monday

Schrodinger?

Had already sent all of his footage back to Millennium.

If he were the type to laugh maniacally? He totally would right now.

But his voice tends to crack when he's laughing like that.

Lucifer was at his normal seat with a bottle of vodka and a look that dared someone to make a comment about the weekend.

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dr-jwilsonmd.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Speaking of the weekend...

Aziraphale and Wilson were two beings in serious need of a drink. It had been a bit of a whirlwind day with class and the like but afterwards they had headed home and spent a good part of the evening being awkward around one another.

Not an uncomfortable sort of awkward since they both understood what was at the source of the awkward but at the same time...it was a bit strange to look at your lover and be all 'awwcutelittleweeperson'.

...

No, just...no!

So, eventually they'd decided a drink was in order and in an effort to keep a low profile -yes they might have been ducking students they'd been hugging with grubby intent- the pair slunk headed down to the Nest.

Aziraphale, upon realizing that he owed Mazikeen BIG, bolted for the lounge leaving Wilson to head up to the bar where he ordered a bottle of scotch and two glasses. Then headed off into the dark shadows lounge.

Strangely enough, the rather sheepish pair found their way to Lucifer and after a moment of standing there looking a bit foolish, Wilson offered up a weak.

"Cute wings?"

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] a-phale.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
Aziraphale kind of wanted to facepalm, but settled for half-hiding behind Wilson. After all, he was pretty sure the Adversary was fond enough of the young doctor not to do anything to him.

At least, he hoped that was the case.

And yes, he was furiously avoiding even looking in Mazikeen's direction.

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
Wilson was very lucky that he was fond of him because instead of his normal reaction of burning the person who mentioned the wings, he settled for a long, emotionless stare.

"Thank you," He replied, voice betraying the slightest bit of a strain for him to say it.

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dr-jwilsonmd.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
Well...one uncomfortable bit of sharing deserved another?

"Aziraphale and I are currently finding the idea of sex together to be rather disturbing, so we're here to drink. Mind if we join you?"

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] a-phale.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
Oh God. The desire to facepalm grew exponentially, and Aziraphale gave Lucifer an apologetic look.

"We have scotch," he offered, despite that it was, of course, Lucifer's scotch. Still, they were offering to share.

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
Lucifer sighed and waved his glass of vodka toward the open seats. They were, at least, not any of the children had managed to attach himself to over the course of two days. There was a reason he always hated cherubs.

"If there is any mention of water fowl and I will have to ask you to leave."

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dr-jwilsonmd.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
Whoops, there went Wilson's intent to thank Lucifer again for the muddy duck he got to hold.

Taking one of the offered chairs, the young doctor settled himself down and poured out two very healthy scotches, one of which he pushed over towards Aziraphale.

"Um, well...let's see. Since this past weekend never happened...oh, I went to the Underworld last week."

Yeah, he was flailing a bit and it was either the Underworld or a discussion about the weather.

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] a-phale.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
Aziraphale thought he would have preferred the weather option. Taking a healthy swig of his scotch, he followed it with another, and then a third, then refilled his glass and proceeded to nurse this one at a more leisurely pace.

"You also gave me a very bad haircut," he added. So much for not mentioning the past weekend. "Never let James near you scissors, Lucifer. He's a menace. Put holes in my favorite t-shirt, too."

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
The topic wasn't about hugging, so Lucifer was happy.

"I'll have to keep that mind the next time I need a hair cut," He said, giving Aziraphale a dry look. It was as close to a joke as he was willing to get after the weekend that will never be spoken of.

He topped off his own glass of vodka and turned toward Wilson. "Oh? A different one from mine I assume."

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dr-jwilsonmd.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
"You needed a place to poke out your wings." Wilson responded snippishly. Obviously the topic of the scissors had come up and been a wee bone of contention.

"I got my memories back, of when I was attacked. A group went down to confront the...the Source." Wilson responded to Lucifer with a bit more seriousness and he took a long swig off his own scotch.

"Well, does yours have a lot of sulfuric rock?"

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] a-phale.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
"Well...yes," admitted the angel. He gave Luficer a little smile, appreciating the dry humor of the Adversary's remark, as he replied to Wilson. "But my hair really wasn't getting in the way. Also, you got jam on my tartan blanket."

What? Aziraphale really like that blanket.

"It turns out I was completely wrong about my assumptions over who attacked James, unfortunately," he added, for Lucifer's benefit. There wasn't much point in trying hide the fact of their conversations from the young doctor now. Wilson might as well know what Aziraphale had been planning.

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
With a bemused look, Lucifer watched the couple bicker as he sipped his drink.

"Among other things, yes," He told Wilson. It was best not to go into detail as to what other things filled the vast space of his former kingdom. Had a nasty tendency of frightening humans when they learned of what tortures waited for them.

He nodded in understanding at the angel. If Wilson wanted to know any details he would have to ask.

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dr-jwilsonmd.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, I tried to ignore the screaming." Wilson offered and sipped more scotch.

He flicked a glance towards Aziraphale and an eyebrow arched curiously. On one hand, he wasn't entirely surprised to learn that Phale had spoken to Lucifer, it actually made a queer sort of sense but that sort of let the door open to what exactly had they spoken about.

"Did I miss something?"

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] a-phale.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
Taking another long gulp sip of scotch, because he was going to need it once Wilson heard what he'd been proposing, Aziraphale returned Lucifer's nod, then turned to the young doctor.

"I thought it was the balrog," he said. "I...wanted it to be the balrog. Lucifer and I...were talking about going after him."

The angel flicked his gaze toward Luficer again, with a sort of 'please don't leave me alone with him until I know he's not going to kill' me look.

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
The look Lucifer gave him in return could be translated as: 'Why would I leave when the fun was just starting?'

He sat back and drank his vodka, eagerly waiting for the show to start.

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dr-jwilsonmd.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
"Did you fall and hit your head...repeatedly or something?" Wilson asked, giving Aziraphale a look that basically said he was at the moment debating just where his lover's braincells had gone off on vacation when that idea was hatched.

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] a-phale.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
"But James...I thought he tried to kill you!"

Really, that had sounded like a perfectly good reason when he'd proposed the plan to Lucifer. In fact, it still sounded like a perfectly good reason. Although obviously, Wilson wasn't so much sharing that opinion.

Good thing Aziraphale had already planned to be sleeping on the couch tonight.

"Er...you know, I think I'll just...go get a refill on the scotch," the angel said quickly, with an apologetic smile for Lucifer. And a look that suggested the Adversary was probably much safer than he was at the moment.

Then he fled to the relative safety of the bar.

The opposite end from where Mazikeen might be, of course.

[ooc: I must sleep, but Wilson!mun has total modding permission.]

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
Lucifer smirked as he watched the angel run for the bar. If he were a lesser being he would be laughing at this point, but he was more in control of his emotions than that.

And Wilson was still there.

He smiled charmingly at the doctor, toasting him with his glass of vodka.

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dr-jwilsonmd.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
As Aziraphale ran for his life headed for the bar to get his refill, Wilson's eyes swung back towards the Advesary.

Sitting forward, slowly, Wilson pushed a bit into the Advesary's space, eyes direct on Lucifer's face.

"You actually thought that was a good idea for him?" He asked with deceptive softness.

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
"You say that as if it was my place to tell him what he could and could not do," Lucifer replied calmly. "Would you have preferred he go alone?"

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dr-jwilsonmd.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
"Or a third option, not tell him one way or the other but just be there to listen to him, as no doubt he needed someone he could talk to." Wilson countered.

"I'd prefere he not go at all, especially when it's based upon a decision made from emotions. Angels aren't supposed to make emotional decisions."

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, so Wilson fancied himself an expert on Angels did he?

"If we weren't meant to make emotional decisions, " Lucifer told him. "We would not have emotions."

"And we would not fall," He added after a small pause.

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dr-jwilsonmd.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
"Exactly." Wilson said softly. "I don't ... I don't want him to Fall." There was a brief flicker of something in Wilson's eyes. Not pity, he knew better than to associate that emotion with the Advesary but perhaps...a curiosity about how things might have been, for all of them, if there had been no Fall, no fracturing in Heaven that left angel against angel, Holy father against Blessed son and mankind caught in the middle as little more than fodder for the war between both sides.

Looking down at his hands, Wilson rubbed them together brushing his fingers across the ring on his left.

"Perhaps I mean, I don't want him making emotional decisions driven off the relationships he's made here in the world... I don't know."

Wilson shook his head and ran his hand through his hair.

"If, he has to take on that...damn enemy of his, he shouldn't be doing it in the middle of an emotional rage. He'll need to be as coldly logical as that Balrog is passionately enraged."

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Unless your version of HIM is more different than I believe, your lover is in no danger of falling," Lucifer replied, watching the angel over at the bar. "And if his attachments to this world would be the cause, it would have happened by now."

He sighed, suddenly wishing for a conversation about small overly friendly children instead of this.

"As for the cold logic, that would be one of the reasons I agreed to help him."

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dr-jwilsonmd.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
There was quiet for a few minutes and then Wilson asked curiously.

"Is that how you see yourself?"

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
"In most circumstances, yes."

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dr-jwilsonmd.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
Wilson looked up into the Advesary's eyes and then gave a small nod before he sat back.

"In some circumstances." He agreed quietly.

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
Wilson could count himself among the few beings who had seen Lucifer exhibit emotion beyond a casual disdain for the world around him.

"He would not have come to harm," He told Wilson after a long pause.

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dr-jwilsonmd.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
As strange as it might be to believe, Wilson had something of an understanding of this and it was part of why he was more willing to put faith in the Advesary than others might think wise.

That and he enjoyed Lucifer's playful side, even if he was playing mouse to the Ruler of Hell's cat.

"I know." He said simply, though there was a hell of a lot of that trust and faith put in to those two words.

"Which is why...I won't try to stop him, if even with this new information, he still wants to finish things with the balrog."

That was, so long as Lucifer, still went along.

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
He would never let it show, but that kind of faith made Lucifer more than a little nervous.

He nodded once in assent. "It is his decision, but I believe he would like to have your approval."

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dr-jwilsonmd.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
"I'd never let him go on something like that with doubt in his heart and mind about how I felt. It would be foolish to distract him, just for a fit of pique." Wilson agreed.

Then he gave Lucifer a little half smile.

"But, I have to give him a little bit of of a scold, least he believe I don't care."

Annoying little mortal, it's possible he also meant that to cover the slight fuss he'd given Lucifer tonight as well.

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
Lucifer gave him an amused look but refrained from commenting on that.

He went for a new topic, now in a much better mood. "Are weekends like that normal around here?"

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dr-jwilsonmd.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
"Do you mean adults turning into children or general mischief and mayhem?" Wilson asked, moving along easily with the topic change.

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
Lucifer smirked. "The sudden lapse into childhood."

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dr-jwilsonmd.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
Wilson took a breath to say no but then had to stop himself as he remembered hearing about a similiar event befalling the students.

"Err...well, I guess it's happened twice now. I heard it befell the students last time, though I wasn't here for that event."

Chuckling softly, Wilson sipped at his scotch.

"Fandom has a strange way of delivering what it seems to think you need, from time to time. Embaressing as this past weekend might have been, it might not entirely have been a bad thing."

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
Not a bad thing?

Lucier raised an eyebrow at that.

"I was a cherub," He said dryly.

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dr-jwilsonmd.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
"So was Raphale." Wilson pointed out.

Then after a thoughtful pause he offered up.

"I got to pet your wings?"

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
But Aziraphale wasn't the former ruler of hell, Prince of Lies, the Beast, the Adversary, etc, etc...

"That was the least bothersome part of the weekend."

The hugging. Why did there have to be hugging?

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dr-jwilsonmd.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
It could have been worse. There could have been little bows and arrows with wee little hearts on the end involved.

"It was very kin..." Wilson caught himself and choked off the last of that particular bit of phrasing and said instead. "You made a very nice duck," he offered with a rueful grin of his own.

"I'm afraid I always did get cranky, as a child, when it was close to nap or sleep time."

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
It was a nice duck.

"I'm afraid I can't say the same," Lucifer replied. "That would be my first experience as a child."

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dr-jwilsonmd.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
"Aziraphale's as well." Wilson said, casting a glance towards the angel who was still hiding up by the bar.

"I think...he found it rather fascinating actually." The young doctor had caught the angel's far away, pensive looks throughout the day and it wasn't hard to connect the dots.

"Maybe you two could talk about it...if you wanted to." Wilson suggested with a warm smile, then he tossed back the rest of his scotch and moved to stand up.

"You should come by the house sometime. You're always welcome." He offered, picking up the glass and the bottle to carry back to the bar.

As he moved passed the Advesary, Wilson reached touch and gently touched Lucifer's shoulder.

"Goodnight."

Re: Lounge

[identity profile] dawn-bearer.livejournal.com 2007-02-20 06:31 am (UTC)(link)
Lucifer nodded. The offer had been made before and he had yet to take them up on it.

"Goodnight."
