Today Teddy was listening to Cake on the CD player, but not because it reminded him of Chad or anything, because there wasn't any need.

Everything was fine.

"Hi Teddy." Agatha had come downstairs, having recovered from being short and young all weekend. "How did your holiday of too much pinkness and evil go?"

"Pretty good," Teddy replied. "Got weird over the weekend though."

"Everything got weird this weekend. What was weird for you?" she stretched as she spoke.

"My mentor was a kid and offered me cookies, which was cool, but pretty weird."

Agatha chuckled. "I see. I think i tried to create a nuclear bomb while i was little."

Teddy stared. "Was everyone little or something?"

"Not sure. I know i was. About six i would say." she shrugged and absent mindedly picked up a dingbot and put it on top of her head.

"Weird," Teddy replied, shaking his head. "This place just gets weirder and weirder."

"You don't say. I had no need to repeat my childhood."

Cold seemingly getting progressively worse as the day continued, Chad went into town to get some cough syrup and it would just seem wrong to not stop in and see Teddy, even if there could be no cuddling or kissing because he didn't want to get Ted sick, too. But he could say hi. Which he did, and then promptly tried to quell a coughing fit.

Teddy could be one big mother hen, just ask Ranma.

"That doesn't sound good, are you taking any medicine?"

Chad lifted up the handwavey bag from Turtle & Sundries with your basic cold-fighting supplies. "Yup," he said, and coughed again. "Sorry; probably should of just gone back to my room, but I wanted to see ya." And he hoped Ted's immune system was good.

"Feel better." Teddy gave him a quick hug, but no kiss because coughing wasn't sexy.

"Thanks." The little hug already had Chad feeling a bit better. He turned to cough again before leaning (carefully) on the counter and asking, "Good day so far?"

"Better now," Teddy replied, wandering into the back room to get Chad some water. He came back with a glass and a look that said Chad would take some of the cold medicine now if he knew what was good for him.

It took a moment for Chad to really get what the look was implying, causing confusion at first until it clicked. "Oh, right." Setting the bag on the counter, he riffled out one of the brightly coloured bottles and complied. Ughhh. That one didn't taste nearly as good as the cool colour would have suggested....

Teddy gave him a pat on the back for his troubles. "Now go back to your room and get some rest before you get worse."

"But...s'boring." Chad was very much torn between missing Teddy and cherishing Teddy's health.

"How about I stop by after work with some soup and comics?"

Because those are the things that always made Teddy feel better.

After one cough lead into several coughs that lead into a full on coughing fit, Chad figured he should probably go get that rest after all. Once he actually could speak, he said, "That's be...good." Nodding, he grabbed his stuff. "Thanks."

Cally looked a little glum when she came into Sparky Repairs after Computer Science.

"Hey Teddy," she said.

Teddy looked up from studying. "Hey Cally, what's up?"

"I'm gonna be gone for two weeks. Figured you should find out from me... unless you already heard on the radio," Cally said.

"No, I must have missed that part," Teddy said. "Where are you going?"

"Basic training," Cally said.

"Aren't you too young for the military?"

"I'm 18," Cally said. "Turned 18 last week."

"Oh, yeah," Teddy said quietly. He held out his arms. "Want a hug?"

"Never gonna say no to those," Cally said, walking over to hug him. "Thank you for not guilting me about not telling you earlier."

Teddy grinned and hugged her back. "I'd only guilt you if you only told me after you already left."

"Well, here's hoping war doesn't break out, huh?" Cally said.

And the quickest way to freak Teddy out is....

"No joking about that, okay?"

"Okay," Cally said. "I mean, it's only a billion to one shot, anyways..."

"Better be," Teddy replied. "This place would suck without you around."

"It's only two weeks," Cally said. "And I promise I'll write."

"Still, two Cally-less weeks," Teddy teased. "Who will I get hugs from?"

"Mac could probably use some while I'm gone," Cally said.

"I'll make sure she gets hugs," Teddy promised.

"When do you leave?"

"Saturday," Cally said. "I'm getting picked up by a Raptor from the Fleet."

"Okay," Teddy replied. "You and me are doing something before you leave then. We'll watch the next bad alien movie in that series or something."
