The Park, Sunday Late Afternoon

The craft came to rest in the park, and the hatch opened. Welcome Home.

Once she'd managed to get herself and Ami off the ship, Setsuna laid her carefully down on the grass, taking a moment to regain her own strength as she checked her friend to see how she was doing. It...wasn't looking good at all...

Billy jumped down out of the ship and knelt by her side, taking her pulse. "Shit. We've gotta get her to the clinic."

Setsuna nodded. "As soon as possible." She drew in a breath and looked over at Billy. Certainly, he had been through just as much as she had, if not more, but...after using some of her demon strength, she was in a terrible condition, even if she didn't look too harried. "Would you...mind taking her?" If it was anyone other than Billy, she wouldn't have asked and would have done it herself. And part of her was feeling that, no matter how much she wanted to be there for Ami, it was really only right that he take her instead of her.

"Yeah." he said, without hesitation. "Yeah I'll get her there."

Just as she checked the ship had hit the ground she got out of the pilot's sit and saw Ami, "Oh, God!"

Setsuna finished helping to hand Ami over to Billy before turning to Rose. "It's all right. We're getting her to the clinic immediately."

"Right, I'll follow as soon as I checked the other students." Rose said, feeling personally responsible for Ami but she had to check the other students too.

Setsuna nodded a little, and paused before asking, "You were the one who flew us out of there, correct?"

Rose nodded, "Yeah," she winced, "First flight alone."

...That explain a lot. But, at the same time...

Setsuna's eyebrow arched a little. "Not bad for a first timer..."

A critique of Rose's flying, however, wasn't why she asked. Softly, she smiled, and her head bobbed in a nod. "Thank you."

Rose sighed, "Thanks. Really, nerve wracking but fun." She glanced at Ami, "I'll follow to the clinic, I promise."

Lana made her way shakily off the ship and had to resist the urge to just lie down on the grass and hug the earth.

Conner knelt down by Lana immediately after exiting the craft and placed a hand on her shoulder. "You holding up okay?"

Lana looked up at him, her eyes shimmering with barely restrained tears. "I'm okay," she said softly, trying to stay in control. "I just... I want to go home."

"We'll get you home," Conner promised. "You sure you're okay? No clinic stop needed or anything?"

Privately he knew that the mental damage would probably be a lot longer in the healing. No need to point that out, though.

She shook her head. "Shawn took care of everything important. Now, I just... I want to go somewhere and be safe."

"I'll get you back to the dorms, okay?" Conner offered. He glanced up into the sky and tightened his grip on his sword for just a moment. "They're not gonna be coming back for you again."

"You sure?" she asked, a few tears slipping past her control. "Cause I don't think I can do this again."

"After the way that thing exploded?" asked Conner. "They're gonna think twice about trying again."

He hoped. Stupid Tyrannodrones and Triptoids had kept exploding and exploding and came back for more every time. But then, these guys, unhygienic as they were, had seemed smarter somehow.

"Okay," Lana said, taking a deep breath. "Okay. Then I can just go home and try to forget all about them, right? And Jim will be home sometime tonight and classes start again and everything will just go back to normal and everything will be okay."

She put a hand up to rub her face and try to push the tears back. "Everything will be okay. It has to be."

Conner reached down to try and pull her in for a comforting hug. "Everything'll be okay. It will," he said, feeling guilty about making it sound like a promise when he wasn't honestly that sure. "We're gonna get you home, so you can rest and see Jim again, and everything'll be fine."

Lana went into his arms easily, resting her head on his chest. "Everything will be fine," she repeated. "Okay."

She knew she should probably check to see if anyone needed help or there was something she could do, but she was honestly at the end of her strength, emotionally even more than physically. "Okay. I'm going to go home then." She took a deep breath and looked around to get her bearings.

Conner took a brief moment to freak out (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/1472591.html?thread=66478927#t66478927) at Deadpool's spectacular arrival, but regained his composure quickly.

"Everybody'll do okay from here on out, I think," he said, keeping his arms around her to keep her steady. "Let's get you home."

"Right," Lana said. "Home." She leaned a little on Conner, still feeling a bit unsteady.

Home, she thought, where I can have my own little private nervous breakdown until Jim gets back.

Conner wished he had a sheath or something for his sword, because he felt dumb sticking it straight into his belt, and he was paranoid about turning abruptly and accidentally nicking Lana. He'd just have to be careful.

"Take it easy," he said gently. "And if you think you're gonna need me to carry you, just say the word."

Lana managed a smile for him. "I think I'll be okay," she said, "but thank you. You're always so good to me."

"You're worth it," Conner said with a smile. "You're always nice to me even when I'm being a jerk. It's only fair, right?"

Lana smiled again. "I don't know that I agree with you being a jerk, but I agree that we watch out for each other."

"I can be," Conner admitted as he led the way out of the park. Remembering a conversation that morning, he added, "But not as much of one as I get the feeling Wyatt was to you."

Lana blushed with embarrassment. "He just... I don't know... I've run into him like three times and we just... rub each other the wrong way. He's rude and treats me like I'm stupid and no matter how hard I try I always end up fighting with him. I don't know why. I just can't seem to be nice to him."

She sighed, looking even more embarrassed. "That's how the aliens got me again. I let myself get so upset that I just couldn't stay in the house with him a moment longer. I went out for a walk - God, if I'd just stayed at Phale's where the wards were..."

Shawn made his way off the ship, a little wobbly after the bumpy ride, but otherwise okay, and very ready for today to be over.

After checking on Ami she went down the ship, a little shaky, the big rifle hanging listlessly on her side. It was her first piloting alone. It wasn't so bad but the cost to the students...

Tori exited out of the ship, very very glad to be back on Earth and in Fandom. She wanted to cry, she was so happy.

A very crispy looking Deadpool appeared in the park, holding on to Liz. Just behind him was another man. One that, if anyone present had detention with Deadpool, might recognize.

"Ow."

Just behind him the man spoke up. "Wade, what is going on here?"

Liz weakly lay against Deadpool, unable to do anything else. It had happened again. Her powers had gone haywire again.

"Professor D!" Conner blurted out. "You got charbroiled!"

Rose rushed to Deadpool when she saw the student he was carrying, "She alright? I didn't see you on the ship! You alright? You're practically just skin!"

Everyone else looked mostly shaken or covered in alien guts like herself, but the sight of Deadpool and Liz after a closer examination of Ami just had her holding her hand to her head with a grunt. She wasn't used to having to witness members of her team turning out as badly as some of those she fought again....

Although, really, the aliens did have it worse in the end of things. She muttered an exhausted Japanese curse.

Deadpool twitched a few times as his skin grew back, ignoring the voice behind him lest he start shooting.

"Professor?" Nate asked.

More twitching and he pushed Liz toward Rose. "Gotta run now! Take care!"

Nate chimed in again. "Wade, what is going on-" Deadpool interrupted quickly, "BODYSLIDE BY TWO!"

And they were gone.

"Oof." Rose almost buckled under the weight, "Very gentlemanly!" She called after Wade. She looked at Liz, "Best take you to the hospital then."

Liz had gone numb. She leaned against Rose, unable to support herself and didn't reply.

"Easy," she said, gently bearing Liz's weight, "I'm Rose. I'm one of the teachers, you're in good hands."

John untangled himself from the restraints and ran outside, doing a little dance. "I"M HOME!" he shouted, covered in gore, gleeful.

"Uh. Was it this cold when we left?" he said.

Wyatt and Chris returned with the others. Wyatt was still kind of shaken by how much his powers had manifested with his anger, so he was of a mind to get back to the dorms quickly.
