The Perk [Wednesday, Afternoon]

Aiden isn't a fan of all this rain. Not at all. Plus, there appear to be a couple of leaks in her office roof and she'd rather not risk the demise of her laptop. So she decided to camp out in The Perk rather than spend the whole miserable day in her dingy and now somewhat damp office.

Why not? After all, she is her own boss, and she doesn't exactly get a whole load of people dropping by anyway. Plus, she left a note so anyone who wanted to find her, could.

After setting up her laptop at a corner table Aiden settled in with a muffin and a large hot chocolate while she skimmed through pages worth of hotel phone records. Scintillating stuff.

Rose ran to the Perk, rain battering on her black umbrella. She entered the Perk with a shake and wrinkled her nose, Fandom was reminding her of London more and more these days.

Aiden glanced up when the door opened, and gave the other woman a sympathetic smile. A certain amount of distain for the state of the weather at the moment was a familiar feeling.

Rose ordered tea and went to her table, she flashed a smile at the woman at the other table and said, "Some weather."

What? She was British.

"Sure is," Aiden said, nodding in agreement. "An' here I thought we were gettin' into spring. Wishful thinkin'."

"I'm used to it a bit," she said, "London's in the same state but the way this rain's going... I'm starting to feel soggy even when I'm dry."

Aiden chuckled. "Shouldn't be surprised by freak weather in a place like this, really," she said picking at her muffin. "Least it's dry in here, which is more an' I can say for my office."

Rose laughed, "That bad, eh? I remember when my office was teh same way when our budget went to hell." She smiled, "I'm Rose by the way, Rose Tyler."

"Aiden Burn," she returned with a grin. "An' I'm probably exageratin' just a little. Just a bit leaky, an' it's really frustrating. One of these days, I'll have the spare cash to re-roof the place... maybe."

Rose looked out at the rain, "Rain's really doin' some damage, anymore of this an' I'm afraid we'd go under with the water."

"Like Noah and his Arc." Aiden sighed and shook her head lightly. "Hope it doesn't come to that," she said. "Already had to redecorate twice, an' I'm not really up for doin' it again so soon."

"Trolls," Aiden replied simply. "Goddamn things didn't seem t'care that I just renovated the place."

"Heard about those," Rose said with a nod, wondering if she'll have to deal with them back in Torchwood.
