Pi Day

Anyone visiting the church today were unlikely to leave without a pie of their choosing; there was certainly a wide variety to choose from.

...Rosette might have been a wee bit confused about the meaning behind this particular day.

John popped in for some nun pie. Mmmm, cherry!

"Hi, John!" Rosette waved.

"Heya, Rosette! I came in just to get some pie." John waved back.

"Awesome," Rosette grinned. "We've got plenty of it. How cool is this, a day just for pie?"

"I know! Three point one four one five nine. And? Cherry pie."

"...Three point one four one five nine?"

"Yeah! That's Pi. Y'know, from a circle?"

Rosette frowned, thinking maybe John had gone a little crazy, if maybe he hit his head on something since yesterday. "Um, yes, John, that's right. Pie usually comes in the form of a circle, yes. See?" And she held up a pie for demonstration.

"Right. Pi is from a circle. It's the circumeference," John said as he traced the exterior of the crust, p'haps brushing against nun hands, "divided by the diameter," he said, 'slicing' the pie down the middle with a finger.

"That's Pi. Written like two sticks holding up a squiggly flat stick. And today is the fourteenth day of the third month, or three point one four. It's a math joke. There's also Mole Day in October."

Rosette gawked. "A math joke? You mean, this isn't about yummy delicious fruit filled deserts, often topped with ice cream, whipped cream, or kissing?"

...Rosette totally didn't say kissing after that. Really. John was imagining it...hum hum.

"Yeah, it's a match joke, because math nerds don't--kissing?" John may have done the "Bwuh?" face.

"Hm?" Rosette asked, feigning innocence about certain deserts making her think of smooching blonde Japanese writers in the basement's kitchen.

"You said kissing," John reminded her, not aware of her totally making out with half the island.

"Did I?" she asked, hoping to channel cute blonde unawareness into her blinking blue eyes.

"Yes. Quite clearly. I'm just wondering," John said, holding her hands (holding the pie) in his, "what made you think of that."

Rosette, her face rather red, was very close to flailing as John took her hands (which would end up being a horrible waste of pie). "Well, uh," she gulped as she thought quick, "you're here, right? How...How could I not?" She bit her lip, lowering her head a little before peeking up through her bangs at him as sweetly as she could manage.

Nicely done, Rosette, she patted herself on the back.

"That," John said, moving both of their hands to put her cherry pie down, "is a fantastic association. Or was that an invitation?" Cutest.Nun.Evaaaar!

Blushing even more, Rosette offered, "Both?"

John leaned forward for that. "Sounds good to me!"

Smiling lightly (and drama potentially averted) Rosette met John's lean forward with a small kiss.

John was drama-clueless because cuteblondenunkissy with a side of cherry pie.

All this consistant kissy was going to Rosette's head a little; she stepped in closer to kiss John a little better, an arm wrapping around his waist.

John returned the gesture and drew her in, tilting his head for a better angle.

A soft sound slipped out of Rosette, and she smirked slightly as she kissed him more, her other arm draping up over the back of his neck, despite thinking, man, they really gotta stop this whole kissing-in-the-middle-of-church thing.

If John remembered that they were in a church, he would agree or suggest the confessional. But his brain is otherwise occupied with Nunkissy as he brings both hands around to her back.
