Fandom Post Office: Friday (16/3)

The Post Office was a scene of great and musical conflict.

Moist had arrived to find a battalion of weetiny penguins, wearing spiffy gold and blue postal uniforms, each with a weetiny bag and a weetiny winged hat, looking up at him expectantly.

Unfortunately, when he'd opened the doors, a stream of tuxedo clad penguins in top hats, tap dancing up a storm, had streamed in after him.

The two groups were now eyeing each other balefully across the polished floor.

Suddenly music swelled, and the top hat clad ones started tapping their way forward, snapping their wings and bowing low to the floor.

The Postal Penguins quickly followed suit, bobbing and swaying to a music all their own.

It was the weetiny penguin battle to end all weetiny penguin battles: Tappers against Posters. Only one one could prevail.

Moist sighed. Of all the days for this to happen, they had to pick recruitment day. Leaving Gladys to supervise, he headed out to put posters up around the town.

[ooc: Okay - everyone (except Annette, cause she's already got a job) who wanted to work at the post office? Here's your chance to get hired! Ping in and talk to Moist about working there, or just ping into the OOC thread and let me know and we can handwave the hiring process. Four people expressed interest, way back when, so there's room for one more! Also, if you were interested but aren't now, can you let me know that, too? Thank you!! *gives ponies and cookies and pie* And if this makes no sense? Ping me on AIM: norglomofnit.]

[ooc2: The Availability OOC - sleeping soon(ish), up about 4pm EST]

Liz had come into town after Government and had seen the posters for jobs, she came into the post office after several minutes of deciding whether or not she should see about getting one and she did her best not to look nervous, "Hello?" she said as she came in.

"I'm Liz Sherman," Liz replied, "um...I'm interested in having a job here?"

"Um no," Liz said quietly, "I haven't had a job before,"

Katara had seen the posters in town and after a battle to decipher them had wondered if she could get a job and then get money.

She approached the desk with a smile. "Hi! Can I talk to Mr. Moist von Lip-wig please?"

Katara immediately liked anyone who would let a weetiny penguin perch on his head. "I saw your sign in town, and I wanted to apply for a job. I'm a very, very hard-worker, and I promise to always be on time."

She didn't mention the part about not being able to read very well. She hoped he wouldn't ask.

"Is a golem like a firebender?" Katara asked suspiciously.

"Oh." Katara had no idea what to say to that. But if it was fire, she could put it out if necessary. "No, I don't think that's a problem."
