The Park [Sunday Afternoon]

On his way to visit his incarcerated girlfriend, John stopped in the park just to have some quiet time. He hasn't gotten more than two hours of sleep since Friday due to both the masked menace prowling the town and the pounding in his head. In any other situation, the fact that Aeryn was in jail would be kinda funny and, sometime after everything is all said and done, he'll still probably laugh at her.

He took a seat on one of the benches and closed his eyes.

[Park's open! John's here for one person in particular]

"Hello, John," Scorpius said, walking up.

Of course.

John didn't open his eyes. If he couldn't see him, he wasn't there.

"Aren't you gone yet?"

"Soon," Scorpius said. "I wanted to say farewell to you before I left. This will, after all, be the last I see of you."

"Aww, I'll be so sad to never see you again," he mocked. "I really hope you don't blow up or get shot or die in a fire."

Scorpius regarded John for a moment with a slight grin. "I'll miss your sense of humor most of all."

John opened his eyes and glared at him. "I hope you die slowly."

"If it makes you feel better, I have arranged (http://yesmanbraca.livejournal.com/1212.html?view=444#t444) for Officer Sun's release," Scorpius said.

That did make him feel better but he wasn't going to show it. "You'll forgive me if I don't say thank you."

"I forgive you, John," the smarmy bastard said.

John laughed bitterly. And then shout off the park bench to get right in Scorpy's face. "I will kill you."

"Better than you have tried. A better you than you has tried," Scorpius pointed out. "And I will be leaving this island forever in less than half an arn, so you had better get to work."

"When you leave, are you going to find another plaything?" John asked, taking a chance and pushing one of Scorpius's shoulders. "Someone else to mess around with?"

Scorpius didn't budge. "Nothing as exciting as that, I'm sure. From here it will be back to my real work."

"Don't come back here," John said. "Ever."

"I am fairly certain that won't be a problem, John," Scorpius said. "And now it is time for me to leave. Farewell, John."

"Enjoy your godforsaken life," John muttered before re-taking his seat on the bench.
