The junkyard, Monday afternoon
| After leaving 238, Aeryn, Jamie and Molly made a quick stop at the weapons locker- because Aeryn is not leaving anything to chance- before going right to the junk yard. She knows John can't go far, unless he's learned how to fly the transport pod when she wasn't looking, but she's not looking forward to this at all. She stops at the Prowler, which has John in cockpit already, trying unsuccessfully to get the Prowler operational. "It isn't going to work," she greets him, hand over her weapon, not drawing it yet. |
|
| John, irritated beyond belief, turned his head and sneered at the new arrivals. "You've brought the cavalry," he said mildly. "How fun." |
|
| "Hi-Ho Goddamned Silver," Jamie grumbled in retort. "Step away from the controls John." | |
| "John's not here right now," he said, smiling sadly. "He's gone. It's just me now. And I'm afraid I'm taking this ship and leaving this cesspool." | |
| "I've been doing some work to the Prowler," Aeryn tells him. "Some very important components are currently missing. You'll never get off of the ground." | |
| "You're lying," John snapped angrily. | |
| "If I was, you wouldn't still be grounded, would you?" she says evenly. "Get out of the ship, John." | |
| Molly shrugged. "I could just break it," she said in an aside to Aeryn, but loudly enough so that John could hear. | |
| Snarling, John sent a closed fist smashing into the Prowler's controls, sending sparks flying. "Do you really think I'm going to listen to you? How is your head, dearest Officer Sun?" |
|
| She ignores the second question and says, "You're trapped in there. You have nowhere to go." | |
| "You wouldn't shoot me," he said, lounging in the Prowler's seat. "That would be shooting John. That would be quite painful for him. Would you honestly want to do that to someone you love?" | |
| No, but she would. "You don't know me very well," she says, pulling her weapon. She's got no intention of firing it, but she's not letting him know that. | |
| "Whoa ho!" Jamie said putting his hands in the shape of a T for the international sign of time out. "Why don't we put our weapons away, stop acting like a lunatic and go get some pizza?" | |
| "Shut up," John said snidely. "You insignificant idiot." Turning back to Aeryn, he said, "Perhaps you could shoot me in the head, then. Put him out of his misery. I've made it very painful for him over the last several months. The end...would be a respite." |
|
| She can tell herself she could if it came to that. She even believes it. That doesn't mean she's right. "Out. Of. The. Ship." |
|
| He laughed at her. "Make me." | |
| Suddenly from the main cockpit windows there's a rapid knocking noise. Hanging upside down over the cockpit window is another Jamie flashing his "Bikini Inspector" badge at John. "I'm sorry but you've parked this ship in a non-shipping zone. I need to see your license and registration please." |
|
| "What in the frell?" he said, sitting back in the seat and putting an arm up. | |
| Molly took that as her cue to rush the ship. If he still refused to come out, she'd have no choice but to break in. | |
| Aeryn holsters her weapon as she follows quickly, climbing up. | |
| Effectively cornered, all he could think to do was try and jump out of the ship around both the boy and girl. It wasn't going to work, of course, but he wasn't going to go down without a fight. | |
| Molly actually let John get past her. Once he was on the ground, she tackled him from behind, knocking him to the ground. | |
| John hit the ground with a muffled oomph but didn't stop struggling against Molly's hold. "Let me go or I will kill you." |
|
| "Tougher people than you have tried," Molly said, holding onto John easily. | |
| Aeryn could hit him, but the fact is, she really doesn't want to have to. "I know John has to still be in there somewhere," she says, trying one last time. | |
| At that, he laughed, more amused than anything else. "When I took over, it was quite painful, you know. He fought. So very hard. He wouldn't give up until I took everything from him." | |
| "Pfft," Jamie said rolling his eyes. "Stickbugs never give up." | |
| "I am going to kill all of you," he said, struggling, "and John is going to see it all through my eyes. And it's going to hurt him more. Let me up so I can kill you all." | |
| "So he is still in there," Aeryn says quietly. | |
| "Like I would really end his misery so quickly," he snapped at her. "This way is more painful. He saw what I did to you, Officer Sun. His hands, his actions. Such a beautiful sight." | |
| This time when she thinks that she could hit him, she's more worried about doing damage to John. She gives a quick glance to Jamie, almost asking him to. | |
| Jamie shrugs and give John a swift boot to the head. | |
| Even neural clones come to life can't resist kicks to the head. John was out without seconds. | |
| "He's out," Jamie said looking over at Aeryn and Molly. "What now?" | |
| Aeryn takes only a second after that to think about what just happened. "We need to get him to the transport pod." She hasn't wanted to do this, but she knows it has to be done. There isn't another choice now. |
|
| Once she was sure John was really out, Molly stood up and dusted herself off. With a sad look down at John, she sighed before bending down again and slinging him over shoulder. "Let's get going then," she said. |
|
| "Shotgun!" Jamie called out and then realized that this was probably not the time for goofiness. "Sorry. Reflex." |
|
| Aeryn ignores that and leads the way to the transport pod, going about the usual procedures once inside to get it prepped for flight. "I'm going to take him back to my galaxy," she says, because if he won't get this taken care of here, she has to make that decision for him now. "Find someone who can do something about this." She looks at Jamie and Molly and says, "You don't have to come along if you don't want to." |
|
| Molly glanced briefly over at Jamie before looking directly at Aeryn. "We're not going to leave you alone with him," she said flatly. | |
| "What she said," Jamie added with an emphatic nod. "Plus he's a stickbug no matter who he says he is. No way you can chase me off." | |
| She manages a small smile at them both, grabbing a piece of cable that had been laying on the floor near the seats, holding it out to whoever grabs it first. "Make sure he can't get out of it and we'll be on our way." | |
| Molly gently laid John down on the floor of the transport. "I'll hold onto him if you tie him up, Jamie. I don't trust him to really be out of it." | |
| Jamie took the cable and went to work tying his arms together at the wrists and doing the same for his legs using some intricate sailing knots. "There. Unless he's triple jointed or Houdini that should hold him." "Let's go." |
|
| With that, Aeryn closes the door to the transport, and sitting in a seat so she can have better access to the controls, she starts the transport. A moment later, they're lifting off, and a moment after that, they're gone. |

That John, Aeryn, Jamie and Molly went to the junkyard, and that the transport pod took off is okay for broadcast. The rest is not.]
