Magic Box, Friday

Giles had got the shop as ready as it was likely to be and had added a banner that advertised:

Grand opening/Easter special: Free rabbit's foot with every purchase over $10

He flipped the sign on the door from CLOSED to OPEN and hoped he would have as much traffic as he had the last few days now that he was actually officially in business.

After being sick and stuck in the church for a few days, the last thing Rosette wanted to do was spend another day stuck in the church. She went out for a walk, and couldn't help notice that banner.

Nor could she help going into the shop, finding the person working and asking with a grin, "So, where do you keep all the footless rabbits when you're done?"

"You'll have to ask my supplier who sent me five times as many as I ordered," Giles replied dryly.

Rosette chuckled. "Well, I do hope they at least made a good stew or something, otherwise it's just a terrible waste." She took a moment to get a look at this fellow. "This place is new, right?" she asked, as if the 'Grand opening' part went over her head.

There was a long pause as Rosette looked at Giles before she said anything, her shoulders straightening a little. "...Magically infused demon slaying bullets?" she tried, hopefully.

"Not...currently in stock, I don't believe," Giles replied slowly. "Is there a particular demon you're looking to shoot?"

"Mmm, not at the moment, no, but one can never be too prepared," Rosette responded. "My only supplier is way back eighty years ago, and I worry about running out."

After her class Mel decided to take Xander's advice and check out the Magic Box and meet this "Giles" person that she's heard so much about.

So she headed into the store and did her best to look inconspicuous while checking out the guy she assumed was Giles.

And also a gift for Willow.

"Yes. I'm looking for a gift for a friend. I think you might know her? Willow Rosenberg," Mel said as she looked at a couple of items. "I know she's into magic but I'm at a loss of anything to get her."

"Focusing crystals are always good for magic users," Giles suggested, directing her to where they were set out. "Do you know Willow well?"

Mel wandered over to the crystals and started examining them. "I met her when I first got here at the beginning of the semester. We've hung out quite a bit since then. Do these crystals do any specific type a thing? Or are they just general focusing type stuff?"
