Aereopagitica; Saturday [ 10-2 ]

Following suit with yesterday, Alphonse came in and opened the store, then took a seat behind the counter.

[ ooc: so not only am I feeling uncreative, but it is 7:30 in the morning and I am awake. I think the world may end, or something. ]

Rosette was bored and decided she was tired of all the same old dusty religious books in the church and so she decided to check out the bookshop. She was in the mood for something with either pirates or robots. Potentially both.

"Yes, please," Rosette said with a winning grin. "I hear this might be the place to get books."

"Actually floating?" Rosette asked, smirking a bit, 'cause this kid was cute. Kind of reminded her of someone. "Because a floating book might be just what I need. Can free the hands to do all sorts of other fun things like making pie or cleaning guns."

Rosette was certainly not eying the bookshelves, thinking of testing whether or not they could float by tossing them off and waiting to see. At all. Really.

Okay, she was. And liking the idea more by the second. She was bored, after all, that's what brought her here. "Maybe we should find out?" she suggested with a devilish smirk.

Rosette also cast her eyes around at all the books and then shrugged. "I've got nothing better to do. An' when I came in here, you didn't look much like I was interupting anything important..."

Rosette eyed him carefully. "...And check for floating books?"

Rosette nodded firmly before a smirk spread on her face, the kind that, if Alphonse was the suspicious type, might make him possibly regret his confirmation. "Okay," Rosette said. "First things first. Where might I find books on flying or aeroplanes or birds? Maybe clouds. I have a feeling that if any books are gonna float, it'll be those ones."

"Okay, thank you!" Rosette said cheerfully as she wandered down in the direction Alphonse had pointed her. Her thumb and forefinger stroked her chin thoughtfully as she inspected the rows of spines for a good title. "Oooh. Air Drifts and You: Predicting the Force of the Wind to Improve Your Aero Flight. This seems like a great place to start!"

And, promptly, she pulled the book from the shelf, gave it a good look over, before tossing it up into the air.

In promptly came crashing down to the floor, covers spread and pages bending under its weight. "Nope. Not a floater."

Rosette was trying really, really hard not to giggle. She beamed at the little book clerk. "But how else will I find out if they can float?"

"Oh, psh. I haven't ruined anything, see?" Rosette picked up the book, dusted it off, and slid it back into where she had removed it. "Can't even tell it was ever removed."

Nor would it probably ever will be again, judging by the title.
