Jude could think of better things to be doing on Saturday morning than be at work.

Then again, he really liked this job. So he wasn't complaining overmuch.

He was humming to himself something about never trusting a fellow with a helmet on his head as he put up the specials.

He's doing bodhran solos with the cutlery in between customers.

Nate stepped through the doors and nodded to the man behind the counter. "What do you recommend?"

"The kebabs, dude," Jude replied mellowly, flipping a butter knife in his hand before setting it aside. "My specialty."

"Bring me that, then," Nate said, sitting down. "And a milkshake."

"Totally, bro." Creepy-ass glowing eye? What creepy-ass glowing eye?

"You go to the school here?" Nate asked.

Jude chuckled as he set about making the milkshake. "Well, duh. You new in town

"You have a lot of guys in town that match my description?" Nate asked.

Jude looked him over as if this actually required some thought. "Uh . . . no?"

"So don't you think this would mean I'm new in town?" Nate said.

"Well, I don't know everyone in town," Jude said thoughtfully, giving him the milkshake. "So you don't look like anyone I know, but you could have just been like under a rock or something."

"I'm not the type to hide," Nate said. "You don't know everyone, huh? You know Wade Wilson?"

"Professor Deadpool?" W. Wilson was the name on his schedule.

The urge to facepalm was too much. "Yeah, that'd be him."

"Yeah, I know him. He's teaching me to drive and keeps threatening my life. Here's your kebabs, dude."

"...he's been threatening you?" Nate asked, sipping at his milkshake.

"Yeah. Just normal shovel-to-the-head stuff. I'm dating his minion." Jude didn't look too worried.

"He has minions? Dateable minions?" Nate found this hard to believe.

"Yeah? Why wouldn't he?"

"He's a mentally unstable freak?" Nate said, casually.

"Whoa, harsh, bro. This is Fandom. Everybody's mentally unstable."

"I mean in the sense that he's had to violently break out of asylums," Nate said. "Don't get me wrong."

Jude considered this mellowly, seeming not to be put off by this news. "Yeah, that makes sense."

"Good shake," Nate said.

"Thanks, bro." Jude looked pleased.

And pay no attention to the dork behind the ~~curtain~~ counter.

I finally got enough sleep last night! I am in like the greatest mood ever.

This whole post gives me beautiful East-Coast pride.
