Luke's Diner - Sunday Brunch

Yitzhak had shanghaied -- if you could call cornering and glowering at someone shanghaing -- one of the kitchen staff into dressing up with him today as Ann and Nancy Wilson from Heart.

While all this was going on, the rest of the staff had set up the brunch buffets and gotten everything ready. As usual, there was a small band setup behind the salad bar, and somehow or other Yitzhak had managed to get the Korean army sergeants' wives to play backup today.

All the usual ~~totally moddable~~ brunch fixings are available.

Having left Batou in charge of the shop, Zhaan took advantage of the rather lovely day and made her way around Fandom a bit before deciding she was rather hungry.

There was quite enough meat on the buffet to satisfy even her cravings, and Zhaan filled a plate and took a table to set-to with gusto.

Not only was there good weather and food, there was also someone blue. Clearly, a good day.

"Would you mind if I joined you?"

"Not at all," Zhaan smiled. The day was definitely looking up, she decided. "I hope the day finds you well?"

"It does," Stark confirmed. "A good day, I think. And how are you?"

"Quite good, actually." Zhaan gestured towards the stage, "I was tempted to make them play something from Delvia, then decided that would be less than fair."

"No, not fair at all," Stark said with a smile. "But it might have been entertaining. Or maybe it would have been just terrible, if they'd tried. Did you ask for something else instead?"

It was Sunday! It was brunch! Of course Rosette and Chrono were there, taking full advantage of their disregard for gluttony as a Seven Deadly.

Seven days a week, seven deadly sins? Coincidence? Maybe not.

It was nice out, and there was free food to be had if he ventured into town. Naturally, Stark was there with a plate full of a little of everything.

And note the rather prominent, glitter-covered tip jar.

"I don't suppose you know Strains of an Ever-lasting Waltz?" The title of the song had a rather liquid quality, as if that wasn't exactly the words she was saying. Or perhaps the translation came across oddly. Zhaan shook her head, an amused smile flickering across her lips, "No, of course you wouldn't. What am I thinking? It's just, I haven't heard it in nearly a hundred years. But perhaps you know Joan Jett's I love Rock 'n' Roll?" She dropped several dollars into the jar and returned to her breakfast.

Yitzhak grinned fiercely -- the several dollars might have had something to do with it -- and nodded to the army sergeants' wives and their ragtag collection of instruments.

The chords were a little out of tune, but recognizable.

He had to kick Kwang to get her to stop slaughtering the end riff, though.

Zhaan's head had bobbed along to the song, and she happily smiled her thanks to the bad before returning to her meal.

So today would be the one day I actually manage to sleep in, huh?
