Fandom Post Office - 9-5

Katara made it to the post office and got it unlocked and opened on time.  She arranged the stamps for a while and sorted the mail and packages that had come in, dispatching Gladys to deliver them and making sure the mailboxes were working properly.

But it was only a matter of time before she ran out of busy work.

She bit her lip then pulled out a piece of paper, inkwell, and brush from her bag.  Deciding to finally test the limits of the post office's delivery, she bent her head over the paper, tracing symbols carefully with her brush.

Dear Aang,

And that was as far as she got before she stopped to think for a long time.

It was Thursday, which meant Best Roommate Ever Day at the post office and potential woeful SP, so Chad had put together another letter and came by that afternoon to send it off. This one was for Kon Ichigo.

It was a lot shorter than his letter to Orihime.

"Hey, Katara," Chad lifted his hand, the one not holding his letter, to Katara in a wave. "M'good. Got another letter to send." And now he did hold up the hand with the letter.

"Awesome," and he dropped the letter in her hand before leaning (carefully) on the counter. "How goes it?"

Chad took a look at the paper and it wasn't very difficult for him to piece together that Katara was talking about her home. Remembering that she said she was from the south pole or something like it, he offered, "Maybe you could train a penguin to deliver it."

"Gotta give him a hat," Chad pointed to his head. "Then he can eat that instead."

And, hello? OMG, cute!

Chad grinned a bit. Best. Idea. Ever. "I think blue could suit them."

"Hey, Katara. I'm here to mail a letter," Dawn announced, laying a rather thick envelope on the counter, "but I don't have any stamps."

"Oooh, cute," she squealed, "Do you have ducks?"

"No," Dawn shook her head, trying to see the pictures, "duck ducks. No turtles."

"Yeah, we don't have turtleducks here," Dawn smiled when she saw the ones with the ducks and handed the rest back to Katara. "How many stamps does this need to get to Buffy?"

Dawn tore off three stamps, licked them, and stuck them to the envelope. "Okay, I think I'm ready for Buffy to read that," she took a deep breath and then handed it to Katara, "What's new with you?"
