The Devil's Nest - Friday 3/20

It was Setsuna's first night on her new job and she wanted to make sure that she didn't disappoint. Her intent on succeeding in getting this whole bartender thing and not embarrassing herself in front of Mazikeen helped to override any urge to be bouncy about the whole matter.

Most of the time. As the night wore on and she was getting the hang of things better, there were definitely plenty of excited laughs and eager bouncing. And she felt like she was really catching on. Tomorrow, she'll have to see how much she managed to retain by attempting to do this by herself.

apocalypsesoon in his sleep or drunkenly texting him about nunsmex. So, you know what that means... ]]

Mazikeen is there to serve you tonight, with the little Asian girl carefully watching her every move to make sure to learn how to make the drinks properly. Kind of annoying, but it could be worse...and she could be helpful as she started picking up on things.

Ami came in, sat at the bar and asked Mazikeen for a Coke. With ice and lemon. She felt very very adult. Especially when her feet dangled from teh bar stool.

//"Hi Setsuna-chan"// she said with a wave when she saw her friend.

Eeep! Setsuna blushed a little, not really having expected Ami-chan to stop by, and fiddled a little with the necklace around her neck that she had put together (after an advice-seeking phone call with Konoka-Ojou-sama) to be her 'look, I'm hip because I work at a bar' clothes. She waved back. //"Hello, Ami-chan."//

Ami glanced around. //"It is nice here. So... what do you do?"//

//"Well, after I get the hang of it,"// Setsuna said, after pausing for a moment to wonder if speaking Japanese would be okay, but then decided, why not? //"I'll be serving drinks and keeping the place clean."//

//"Oh cool. Are you going to have to learn how to make all the drinks, or do you already know how?"// Ami decided that the other staff didnt' much care in what language the two girls talked.

//"I'm learning how to make them all tonight,"// Setsuna admitted with a bit of a blush, then nodded toward Mazikeen. //"Thankfully, Mazikeen is an excellent teacher. Short on words, but she rarely needs them to communcate well. It's all mostly watching and trying, anyway."//

Ami nodded and watched Mazikeen make a drink for an ~~NPC~~ patron. //"Wow. Do you g et to make up yoru own? Becausethat woudl be a lot of fun i think."//

Setsuna chuckled a little. //"I don't see why not. Should I try to whip you up something now? Although...it would have to be nonalcoholic."// She nodded her head toward the We Card! sign. Not that she imagined Ami would want anything alcoholic, anyway, or that she was suggesting she should.

Ami blushed. A lot. //"Sure Setsuna-chan that would be awesome. And of course non alcoholic!"// As if, after thier discussion the previous day that was even a possibility.

Setsuna nodded, and took a moment to consider all the choices of possibilities. //"Okay,"// she warned as she shoveled some ice into a cup, //"no garauntee that it will be any good, though, and no being mad at me if it isn't."// She grabbed some Sprite from the tap, a little bit of...let's see...ooh, grape juice annnnnd....um, just a little bit of pineapple and....coconut.

Mazikeen sent a sharp glare Setsuna's way when she went to grab a colourful umbrella. Eep! Gulping, she drew her hand away and stirred up the drink.

"Ta-da!"

There was a pause. //"You've a brave soul, Ami-chan, to be trying this..."//

Ami watched carefully what Setsuna put in and giggled at the attempted umbrella-napping.

//"I am sure it isn't bad, you made it. Too bad about the umbrella though."//

She took the glass from Setsuna and took a very very careful tiny sip. It was... sweet. Very very sweet. Possibly too sweet.

//"Wow, it is really sweet, Setsuna-chan. But good."// she added hurriedly. //"Yum"// She took a bigger sip. Definitly sweet. But not bad. //"Maybe next time less pinapple and more... something else less sweet?"//

Setsuna looked at Ami doubtfully. //"You don't have to drink it if it isn't really that good, you know. My feeling won't be hurt if you don't like it..."//

//"But i do want to. Though. Want to add soem seltzer to it? Then it woudl be bubbly?"// Ami grinned, kind of getting intot he whole drink-creation thing.

[omg on dial-up. woe. otoh, am in middle of volume 9]

//"Oh! Good idea!"// Setsuna quickly did just that and waited for a verdict on the addition.

Ami took a sip. //"Oh! This is wonderful! You shoudl try some yourself, this is awesome. It needs a name."//

//"Might I try yours?"// Setsuna asked, because it seemed more economical than making another one. //"Or...not, if you mind. Doesn't matter...What...could we name it?"//

Ami had of course meant that Setsuna should try hers and instantly pushed the glass towards the other girl.

//"Hmm... I am nor sure. Maybe we can call it the 'Setsuna Fizzy' or something. Because you made it... and it is fizzy." So ok, Ami was being a little silly.

Setsuna blushed a bit. //"I don't think I could handle having a drink bearing my actual name..."// she admitted shyly before taking a careful sip of the drink.

...Wow. Ami wasn't kidding about the sweetness.

//"Hmm, maybe not then. Do you have any ideas? It shoudl imply in it's name that it is yummy, sweet, fizzy and non alcoholic."//

Setsuna considered this carefully. //"I like that Fizzy should be a part of the title...And it is kind of tropical, with the pineapple and coconut..."//

//"Maybe 'Tropical Fizzy'? But then peopel might think there is Rum in it..."// Ami shrugged and sort of thought about how she would want to drink more, but Setsuna had the glass.

Setsuna took one last sip before setting it back between them on the bar.

//"Tropical Virg--"// She stopped right there. True, it was just a term for nonalcoholic drinks, buuuut...

//"Uh, Tropical Fizzy works, I think...."//

Ami giggled and blushed. //"Maybe 'Tropical Virgin Fizzy'?"// She asked, rotating the ~~handwaved~~ straw around so she could take a sip of the drink. //"But it woudldefinitly need a little umbrella."//

Setsuna was trying, really, really, really terribly hard not to blush at Ami saying that word followed by those giggles. //"Once Mazikeen allows me access to the umbrellas, yes..."//

Ami nodded and glanced over at Mazikeen. //"What about the name though? You know it could get famous this drink, and all teh students would come here to get it."// She nodded seriously. //"Think of it as advertizement for the club."//

Setsuna tried not to think of her embarrassment of it if that did actually happen, but she nodded. //"I...I think V..Virgin should come first. A Virgin Tropical Fuzzy..."//

And then, face as red as a cherry, Setsuna wondered if it sounded as dirty to Ami as it did to her, or if it was simply her own impurity.

Ami blushed. Because wow, that sounded dirty. Unfortunately, her brain ~~like her mun's~~ went into the naughty place. //"Then it definitely needs a cherry"//

//"Y...you think?"// Setsuna nearly squeaked in an attempt to control her blushing. //"Y..you don't think that'd be too...too much? Al..Although I suppose that would aid us in getting around Mazikeen...If...if we had a cherry, we wouldn't need an umbrella..."//

Ami nodded, still blushing. //"Y-yes... This is fun. I don't think i could have come up with this drink..."//

//"Well,"// Setsuna said after a moment of thought, //"what kind of drink do you think you'd make? I can toss it together and we'll see how it turns out."//

//"Oh"// Ami thought for a moment. //"Maybe... Coke, and lemon juice and... a bit of Grenadine if there is some?"// Ami had no idea what that would taste like...

Setsuna looked around for the ingredients, holding the Grenadine up triumphantly when she located. //"Got it!"// She went to putting it all together. //"Anything else?"//

//"Oh you found it!"// Ami exclaimed and laughed at Setsuna's triumphant pose. //"Don't know... But you can't go wrong with a cherry?"//

//"Heh, n..no, I...I guess not,"// Setsuna chuckled nervously as she went to plop a cherry into the drink. She bet Ami was a....No! Setsuna, you are not thinking those thoughts, ever. She slid the drink her way. //"Give it a try."//

Ami totally was, but she wasn't thinking about that.

She shook her head. //"You try it first? Unless you don't want to..."//

"Oh!" Setsuna certainly didn't want Ami to think that she didn't want to try her drink first. //"No, I definately can."// She took the cup and took a careful, thoughtful drink. And then nodded.

//"Not bad. Can't really taste the lemon, and I'm not a big fan of soda in general, but it's good..."// She handed the glass over to Ami.

Ami took a sip. fizzy. //"The soda is for the fizzy. Apparently i like fizzy drinks"// she giggled at the realization.

//"I sort of like it, but yours was better."//

Setsuna felt silly blushing over that compliment, but she did. //"T..thanks. Should we give yours a name?"//

//"Dunno. Is it good enough to keep, or is it one for the scrap pile?"//

//"Well,"// Setsuna said after a moment, //"we could try adding a little something more to make it a bit more exciting?"//

//"Do you have any ideas?"//

Grab a seat, shoot a few games, don't mind the Japanese girl occationally going around the tables to clean them muttering "Wax on, wax off" under her breath.

You can dance if you want to.

You can leave your friends behind...

It makes me sad to miss Setsuna's first night.

If anyone really wants to stop in on her first night, SP through Saturday is definately awesome, but she works Saturday night too, and will actualyl be work-working, so that would essentially work better.

yeah but ami has a sleepover on saturday so she is totally coming in today
