The treats were out, should any customers happen by and find themselves either hungry or thirsty, maybe both.

Tori was looking through a magazine, trying to figure out how to fix her hair for the prom. There would be no cutting of the hair. Nuh uh. But styling would work.

Tori looked and smiled. "Hey Ami. How are you?"

What a loaded question. Ami put on her best smile and said "Fine, and you?" and desperately hoped Tori had nto heard the radio.

"Okay, trying to get things together for prom." Tori admitted, with a small smile. She had heard the broadcast but had been distracted, so she hadn't heard the part concerning Ami.

"Oh, is that coming up?" Oblivious much? Yeah she was.

"Yeah, it's on Saturday." And that might have been Tori flailing internally, just a bit.

"Oh. I am going to be in Japan." Ami looked around the store, a little sadly.

"Oh, that's right." Tori remembered now. "I think you told me about that earlier?" I think? She smiled. "I'm sure you'll be having way too much fun there and besides, there will be other proms."

Tori smiled. "I hope you will be." She really did hope Ami returned to Fandom. Okay, cool.

"Thanks. Oh, did i tell you, i can stay over the summer. My Father called a few days ago!." She sounded slightly more excited.

"Welcome. No, you didn't!" Tori beamed. "Ami, that's great! I'm really happy for you." She grinned, glad to hear the good news.

Stanley walks in, looking for something nice to curl up in his chair and read that's not full of teen angst drama.

Tori looked up and smiled. "Hi, welcome to Book Haven. I'm Tori." She offered her hand. "How can I help you?"

"I was looking for a good book to curl up with. Got anything in mind?"

"Well, we have a wide selection. There are mystery novels, science fiction, pretty much anything you could imagine." Tori explained.

"Mysteries sound good. Something adult, though. No teen romance mysteries or something with a plucky young detective," he said with a wry smile.

"Mysteries, okay." Tori smiled, moving out from behind the counter. "Adult type. They're over here." She moved to one of the shelves towards the back. "If you want anything else, just let me know and I'll help you find it."

"Thank you," he smiled, and browsed. Holding a stack of about half a dozen, he proceeded back to the counter.

"You're welcome." Tori smiled and moved back to the counter, just as he reappeared.

She grinned. "Looks like you found everything you wanted?"

"Indeed. Well-stocked, clearly labeled, very pleasant. And this will give me something to work on."

"Great, I'm glad to hear that, thank you." Tori smiled and rang up the books, telling him the handwavey amount. "Would you like a bag for those?"

"Please," he said, handing over the cash. "Nice place you got here. I think I'll be back."

"Sure." Tori accepted the money, taking out a bag and placing the books in it. "Here you go. And thank you, I'll be sure to let Millie know that you find the store favorable."
