Movies in the Park, Wednesday at Dusk (04/11)

Once again, it's raining on movie day, but there are plenty of tarps laid on the ground and awnings hung overhead to protect people from getting wet, and some portable heaters have been set up to chase away the evening chill. Just a little while before dusk, the temporary movie screen is set up. There's a large open area in front of it, where movie-goers can spread out blankets or set up lawn chairs. Some people are already gathered, picnicking while the sun sets.

[OOC: The movie begins at dusk, and the screen will be removed afterwards. Things have been handwavily arranged in a way that allows people to watch the movie without getting wet if it rains. OCD threads will be have been set up for your movie-going use. Anyone who needs the park for other purposes will find that the outdoor cinema takes up only a portion of the park, with plenty of space available for non-movie needs.]

Lana helped spread out the blanket, then sat down on it, leaving plenty of space for Jim to sit apart from her if he wanted - though she hoped he wouldn't.

She was just glad that he'd been willing to come with her. The movies had been such a good part of their early dating that maybe they'd help get things back on a more normal setting.

Jim settled down beside her, his legs stretching out as he leaned back on his hands, one planted behind and to the opposite side of Lana, his arm almost but not quite around her. "So what are we watching this time?"

"The Philadelphia Story," she said with a smile. "We saw it here once before." She ducked her head a little. "That was a good night."

He nudged her with a small smirk. "Refresh my memory?"

"Of the movie or the good night?" she asked with a small grin of her own.

Holding an umbrella to stave off the rain, Billy arrived with Ami. "Lemme know if you see a good spot." he said. Anything was likely to be more comfortable than the tree.

"I like it." he nodded. It was out of the rain and there was a good view of the screen. When they got there he pulled the blanket out of the backpack that he totally had the whole time omg.

Rosette was there with a blanket for the ground and sandwiches for her stomach because you had to have sandwiches, it was tradition, and now all she needed was her date. Chrono had decided to "let" her and John have some privacy, although, really, he just wanted to enjoy the church being quiet.

John showed up, wearing his cowboy duster that didn't quite fit and didn't quite look good on him on a horse or a Harley, but he thought was cool.

"Hiya! Did I miss anything?"

"Nope," Rosette smiled up at John from the spot she'd chosen and patted the ground next to her for him to join her. "Think you're even relatively early. Don't think they'll start for few."

"Awesome!" he said, taking off the duster to use as a blanket. "Can't wait!"

"Know anything about this one?" Rosette asked, head tilting, waiting to rest it on John's shoulder the moment she had a chance.
