Movies in the Park, Wednesday Evening (04/18)

The weather was a bit better than the previous week, and there didn't seem a need this time for the tarps and awnings. The portable heaters were there, however, to take the chill from air as night drew on. Just before dusk, the temporary movie screen was set up. There was a large open area in front of it, where movie-goers could spread out blankets or set up lawn chairs. Some people were already gathered, picnicking while the sun set.

[OOC: The movie begins at dusk, and the screen will be removed afterwards. OCD threads will be have been set up for your movie-going use. Anyone who needs the park for other purposes will find that the outdoor cinema takes up only a portion of the park, with plenty of space available for non-movie needs.]

Annette used that glitter Turtle sold her and for some strange unknown reason, all of a sudden she was Doug Hoo and he was a track star. A damn good one too.

With his cheerleading skirt on cause it was all he could find in that damn room zomg! and tank top, he ran straight outdoors and for the park. But crap if he didn't see Tortoise! That had him slowing down and glaring at her.

"What the hell?"

Turtle looked up her skirt at Annette with an arched eyebrow. What was that look for? "What?" she retorted back. Did just having a cheerleading skirt kill brain cells or something?

Not that Turtle would be surprised if that were the case.

"What the hell you doing here, Tortoise?" Doug Hoo cocked a leg. "I'm running here and you are in my freaking way."

"Uh, it's Turtle? Turtle, Tortoise, completely different animals, dork. And you sure picked a crappy spot to do your jogging. There's a movie going on here!"

Turtle rolled her eyes. What? Now Annette the Pervert thought she owned the whole park of something?

...Briefly, Turtle's eyes widened. She should maybe go find those ducks before Annette did.

Doug started running in place, stretching his arms high over his head. "You are such a snotty brat, Tortoise. You've screwed up my mile run here. I was going at it just fine, but nooooo! God! It never fails!"

"Uh, you're the one that stopped," Turtle pointed out. Stupid dumb blondes. She shook her head.

He puffed out his chest, leering at her. Yeah, he knew she had a thing for him, stupid girls with stupid names. "You were in my way freaking way, Tortoise. What'd you want me to do, run right over you? You had that duh look on your face and as much as I wouldn't have minded knocking you over? I'm being cool about this." Doug stopped running, spread his legs, and stretched over, hands to toe, hands to toe.

"So? I know you like me."

Turtle didn't know whether to laugh or to punch Annette in the face right then and there. She could reach, too, with her stretching like that, stupid blonde cheerleader and her legs and blondeness and pervertness and...

"Ew. No. No way. No way, Jose. That's just...yeah."

She snorted. She did not like Annette. That was just...weird.

Billy had a blanket and some drinks as he arrived at the park. He looked to be meeting up with his girlfriend.

Ami smiled back. "Of course i was going to make it." She did not mention that she hoped this wouldn't be awkward. She was still a bit preoccupied with the conversation with Setsuna from earlier in teh day though.

Billy was determined for it not to be awkward. He had met his future kids. His girl friend kissing another girl, once, while drunk didn't seem nearly as important in the face of that.

He indicated a likely spot for sitting and blanket snuggling.

Ami nodded, and proceeded to that spot. She was going to do what she could to also not the awkwardness get to her. Setsuna was talking to her again, but clearly was uninterested in anything else.

And Billy did not need to hear about that. The blanket was big enough that they could both sit on it, and wrap the rest around themselves if they so wished.

"So have you ever seen this movie?"
